Neal H Paster is good for case settlements ONLY! not to protect your interest or fight for you, he will blame you if you lose the case, he will drag the case to the longest and instead of fighting or coming up with unique arguements he will prefer settle the case and convince you doing as well, he does not like to do his home work and ignore your given facts and at the end for all the (not hard work) put in will bill you a hefty attorney fee.

after losing multiple cases in which either I should have won or should have paid no settlements, it seemed as though he worked for the other party not the defendent.

I would not recommend him as defense attorney, if you have a family law suits or business lawsuits,  might as well give everything to your spouse or plaintiff because after losing you will end up giving away everything anyway on top of it will be left with attorney fees which he will charge you.

Cynthia.

Lawyers will represent you and fight for you, provided you have a case worth pursuing.  Once the attorney realizes you don't have a case, then the attorney fights to keep your loss to a minimum.  Often, people come to this website claiming that a lawyer didn't properly represent them because they thought they had a solid case.

The problem of course is that nobody cares what you think.  You didn't have a solid case.  When a lawyer settles the case, it happens because the lawyer knows he/she can't win so the lawyer protects you from yourself.

......will bill you a hefty attorney fee.  This is where your argument totally falls apart.  Simply blaming an attorney because he/she bills you a hefty fee is a meaningless statement.  Attorneys charged several hundred dollars an hour and double it when you get to court.  If you think you should not have had to settle the case, then you should have settled the case before YOU dragged this out.  And your attorney would not have dragged this out IF you had not directed him to do this to begin with.  That's how this works - the lawyer works for you at your direction.  You admit you should have won the case.  That means you directed your attorney to try and win.  That costs money.

....it seemed as though he worked for the other party not the defendent.  Yeah, that's not how it works.  Your attorney received documents from the opposing lawyer through the discovery process, also presented to the court, that probably sunk your case.  Lawyers cannot come up with creative and unique arguments that they know won't be accepted by the court once they get discovery; if you think the argument is unique, believe me, it isn't.  Lawyers here this sort of garbage daily.  At that point, your attorney's strategy changed from winning to mitigating your loss through settling.  That's what all attorneys do.

If you think you've got a winning case, stop.  You probably don't.

First the Clinic with no "counciling" not this lawyer. What is the reason you are filing these ridiculous reports for with not one ounce of evidence??

Since you know so much about the LAW and this Attorney does not then file a pro se lawsuit. AND since you are talking about your case what is the reason you needed a lawyer for anyway?
