I took my brand new 2005 Chevy Impala to get serviced because it had a small oil leak. The leak was coming from the PCV valve. My car was under 36,000 miles and still had Bumper to Bumper Factory Warranty.

Tom Crowley put in a request for a part and asked me to come by in a couple of days to get the part put in. I returned about 2 days laterand left my car to him all day and still had nothing done to it. The car stayed overnight and still nothing. I went back to go get my car and he gave me the part and said "You can probably put this in yourself." He explained how to put it in and told me to call if I needed help.

I was unable to put the piece in just by looking at it. It had a bracket and I told Tom about it. He said bring the car back tomorrow morning and we'll fix it. I left the car there and around 5 pm had not heard anything yet. I called him up and he said it was ready.

When I arrived at the location to get my car I opened the hood and saw that the bracket had been cut off with a hacksaw. I asked Tom what happened and he said he did it himself since the service department was really busy that day. He said not to worry and I could get a free car wash whenever I wanted one.

The point is that EVERYONE gets a free carwash and my car was still under FACTORY WARRANTY and he decided to do things himself to get it out of the way. I did not know that everyone gets a free carwash until I told someone else about it.

I quit taking my car to this location and eventually got rid of it. I no longer wanted a Chevy vehicle.

I know you already got rid of it, but that is crazy. It was under warranty! They were required to repair it! If it wasn't under warranty I guarantee they would have done it themselves, he never would have told you that! The only reason he would have told you that is it was warranty work they didn't want to do. If you were being charged for it they sure as heck would have done it! You should have filed a complaint and made them replace that bracket. Or taken it to another dealership and made them fix it under warranty. No matter what vehicle you have, avoid the dealership. If it's under warranty, take it there and insist they do it (And correctly) if it's not warranty, go somewhere else.
