"Do you like sports, marketing, and the chance to run your own business?!?" -This is the add on Jobings.Com that I responded to. It sounded amazing! This is my story of the most devious company in the history of America.

I started working for New Line Promotions in early 2008. Right away, I knew something wasn't right about the company. At the time, I had just moved to San Diego, and felt obligated to stick with the job just to make money and get onto my feet in a new city.

Durring the interview they spoke about the advancement oppertunities. That if hired, I would do entry-level sales for the first 2 weeks, then be promoted to team-leader for 4 to 6 months, and then run my own firm! It was a very exciting proposal.

After being hired (which they hire 100% of the people who apply), I was assigned to a "team" of 3 others. My team-leader seemed really cool (and really is a good person). The company had recently signed an advertising contract with Home Depot, and our jobs were to patrol the aisles for 10 hours a day (disguised as Home Depot employees) trying to convince inocent customers to sign-up for kitchen-cabinet-refacing consultations; OBVIOUSLY nothing to do with professional sports. The pay that was promised was $20 per customer that we were able to sign up (the average lead-generator would get 2.5 apps per day).

After THREE WEEKS of this nonsense, I had worked a total of over 200 hours, and had not yet received a check. When I finally did (the following week), it was for $254. I think I threw up a little in my mouth when I saw that; it was pretty gross. Yet, I was assured by Scott Williams (owner) and Jason McBroom (Manager) that the first checks are always a little shy of the normal pay, and that my next check would be "about a grand". Since I had already invested over a month of my life into this (as well as being behind on my rent), I figured that if I had quit at that point, I might miss out on the magical "oppertunity" that they so graciously talk about every morning in their "impact meetings", which now that I look back, resembles something that a cult would do.

My next check two weeks later was also $254. I was now on the verge of eviction from my apartment, and had no money to pay my bills. The company also requires you to do a LOT of driving, in which they DON'T compensate your gas expenses. So not only was I not making money, but I was actually LOSING it.

I had a critical conversation with the manager and stated my scenario. He again assured me that I'd be getting a big check the next pay period. Durring that next two weeks, I worked extremely hard and out-performed everybody else in the office (which I typically did, or at least strived to do). In my head, I added up my commission, and I had assured MYSELF this time that I'd get my big check. When that time came two weeks later, my check was for ONE HUNDRED AND FIFTY NINE DOLLARS. They explained to me that they use something called "claw-back", where if your commission earnings don't excede the minimum wage payment, then instead of paying you for the commission that you DID earn, they cut you a mininum wage check and call it "an advance", meaning that the next time you DO make a big commission check, THEY TAKE AWAY THE AMMOUNT OF "ADVANCES" THAT THEY'VE PAID YOU!!!

At this point, I was held-back from quitting by two things: 1) I was so brainwashed by their bullsh*t lies, that they motivated me to stay and continue to make them money, even though THEY KNEW that there's no oppertunity! Even my team-leader (an inteligent man around the same age as me) was brainwashing me to stay; because lets be real, a pyrimid scheme won't work unless you have employees of different tiers all being screwed-over at the same time. The second reason I stayed is, again, since I had invested SO much hard work and time, I didn't want to leave if it REALLY WOULD eventually pay-off (which it never did).

I tollerated this for 8 months; never advancing, never being appreciated, and never making a check for more than $254. I'm a very driven person, and they took advantage of my ethics of hard work, leadership, and heart.

Local San Diego television (news) stations have already run numerous fraud reports on this company its sub-companies. (Note: Scott Williams has already been charged with fraud in Colorado as well as New Jersey).

I was one of the hardest-working employees that Scott Williams will ever meet, and he showed me not ONE OUNCE of respect. He belittled me, insulted me, and lied to me. And for the record, let it be known that when he hires women, he also only hires beautiful women, and then attempts to make STRONG sexual advances with ALL of them.

This is my story. I was raped of all the great qualities that made me who I was. Asside from that, I now have no apartment, no car, and no pride. How can ANYBODY hang onto their hard-earned posessions when their year-to-date earnings after 8 months is only $3500? Thanks, New Line Promotions; and kiss my a*s.
