Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

My Wife and I were foolish enough to sign a two year contract with "New Mexico Surf", a satellite Internet service provider in the Albuquerque and Santa Fe NM area. They neglected to inform us that peer to peer downloading was strictly forbidden due to "security concerns" so remember this: you will only receive partial access to the internet as per the contract. Once the contract was signed we proceeded to make full use of the internet and after a series of harassing and threatening e-mails they cut our already lousy internet speed down to "dial-up" 56k modem speed to prevent any further use of peer to peer services. Now we are stuck paying $52.00 a month for internet that is worth about $8.00 a month until our contract expires next year.....SO If you enjoy being jerked around, ripped off, threatened, and harassed, if you enjoy having your web surfing activities constantly monitored by professional bandwidth snoops, and you want to support poor business ethics then "New Mexico Surf" is the ISP for you, don't learn this lesson the hard way as my Wife and I have.

Illegal P2P Activity

Mr. Mosher was downloading illegal copyright P2P movies which is a violation of federal law.  We continually notified Mr. Mosher of this problem on 4 different occassions.  After continually receiving many notices of infringements from movie companies, we decided to terminate Mr. Mosher's contract due to illegal activity and after consulting with our attorneys.  Unfortunately, people do not tell the entire story and contrary to his review, movie companies were sending us notices asking us to release the name associated with the ip address.  We could have reported Mr. Mosher to FBI or we could have released his name to the giant movie companies; however, per our policies, we will only release a name with a subpoena.
