To the Nurse:
The point is that by law, the next of kin is supposed to be notified. Neither the Conservator, Felica I found out, not Raymond, or whomever nor New Vista Nursing Home notified me of my mother's death. That is wrong. They kept me in the dark as much as possible.
I have been tied up in goverment beauracy for 7 years. Even if reported, the facility rarely gets in trouble.

First let me render my condolences this sounds very unfortunate. However, as a Nurse myself let me pose some questions. You indicate Raymond was the conservator and you were the next of kin. Were you the DPOA of healthcare? In other words did your Mother sign you as POA to manage her Health care decisions? That is important. Many times I have encountered family members who were angry that they were not called. Sometimes the Resident will have a Guardianship that we are legally bound to notify, and they might indicate whether to call the Family or they will call themselves. I don't know if that was the case, but sometimes it's not always the Facility "dropping the ball."

I hope you're going to the proper authorities for thier blatant disregard. They need to be made aware that they cannot treat human beings this way.
