My Son bought one of these nexon cash cards to buy items in the game Maple Story. He came home and inputed the code from the back of the card. He was able to play once then the following day when he signed on it wouldn't let him and they will not send him his password in case he has been hacked.

Since then we are only able to get his sign on name sent but not his password. There is no where to complain unless you are signed on to the game.

This to me is a wonderful way to rip off young kids and won't happen to us again!!! The card of course states in the Terms of Use, all purchases are NON-REFUNDABLE. If your account is blocked or deleted at any time for any reason, as stated in the Terms of Use, you will not be entitled to any refund for and used or unused Nexon Cash or Cash Items.

It's really strange that he was only been able to play one day then his account got blocked out to where he can't even sign on to it again. They will not send any emails explaining why they aren't sending him his password either.

According to this report, Nexon America alledgedly blocked the account of the consumers son on the popular MMORPG Maplestory a day after charging Nexon Cash to the account. Under personal observations of the costumer service provided through this game, and being a player of 4 years myself, i would have to say this issue is not created by Nexon but by mal-practices of the customers son himself. Nexon will not block an account by changing any information unless the player did something that would arouse there suspicion and they would hardly even touch the info. Instead, they would simply put a ban on the account which it sounds like they havent according to the details stated. From what i have seen over the years, kids have been decieving their parents repeatedly when something has gone wrong with their account which is the main source of most Nexon ripoff reports. Nexon will hardly change the password, the only answer to why the password has been changed is either due to it being inappropriate or too simple(one that is easily guessable like a repeat of the username or 12345) Or if the costumer was hacked and the hacker changed the accounts password. In this case, you can still contact nexon without using the ticket system on the website. This can be done by emailing [email protected] with information regarding the issue. If the accounts password was changed, it would usually mean the hacker has somehow gained personal information on the owner of the account including email address and security information....which makes me more skeptical if the costumers son let someone on his account or not...which is usually most cases regardin account info being changed. I am very doubtful that the sudden change in account information was caused by nexon themselves as when they change info, they send an immediate email regarding the issue...and it does not appear to be like that in this case. If the email used for the account has been lost, however, unfortunately there is nothing you can do nor nexon can do. Also, if its an older account you must remember both security questions. at sign up, users are asked to choose a question, then also answered a default security question. when you are asked to provide information regarding the account to proove that your not a hacker but the actual owner of the account, you will be prompted to answer the security question/s. Newer accounts only need one question. Default question is What is the name of your best friend, and must be answered correctly tho when i was hacked, they allowed me an alternative. In conclusion, I would say this is not a valid ripoff report, seeing as theres too much skeptism to believe that this is clearly a matter against Nexon and not some hacker. Nexon is not responsible for refunding hacked accounts either but nx cash does not expire unless he purchased any items in which most purchased items last 90 days, so if he gets the account back, and the nexon cash is missing, that is even a bigger sign that it was a hacker but nothing can be done about it because most cases of hacked accounts is due to the users mal-security with their own information. The mannor in which i would suggest the support letter be would be in the following format, not exactly, but just to show you the best way to get a response clearly and efficiently. Dear Nexon Customer Service, It has come to my attention that after a day of purchasing and charging Nexon cash using a prepaid card to my sons account, his login information has been changed. I find this coincedental that this would happen only a days length after placing the cash onto the account. I would like to kno the possibilities as to why this has happened, and how i could solve this dilema. I am writing to you through email support, because due to the password change, i am unable to report through ticket support on the main website. I would like to request a password report and i am willing to provide account information when it is needed to provide proof that this is indeed my sons account. I look forward to hearing from you soon. xsignaturex That isnt perfect, but just an example of what you could say. Responses to tickets and support emails usually are from an hour up to 7 business days depending on how busy it is. Weekends usually dont count but on several occasions i have managed to get quick responses within a day on weekends. Through personal experiance, it usually takes 3 days to get an answer. Remember to alway write properly with no profanity or disrespect. Despite the rumors, Nexon is very respectable and the customer service has helped me and thousands of players worldwide much support and they are continueing to make the game enjoyable to this day. lastly, i wish the customer good luck with getting the account back if it has not been done already..but i just cant say this is a valid ripoff as the fault is leaning to the customers mal-security rather than malpractice of Nexon America. Remember ,nexon is a company that has been around for a lil while now, and is even getting support from companies such as mtv...they cannot afford to ruin there reputation, so its very unlikely that they are purposely ripping children off.
