nikon los angeles service center over charged for prostate 3 range finder repair-4-year old item had faulty battery compartment that would not close when battery was inserted. los angeles California
my nikon prostaff3 range finder was purchased for $200 4 years ago from cabelas. the battery compartment is defective-it would not close properly when a battery was inserted which rendered the range finder useless without power. the battery compaartment cover has only been opened 6 times during the time that i have owned it-now nikon is asking $154 to repair it. they will not own up to a manufacturing flaw.
