Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
My husband and I bought two vehicles in one day from Nissan/Kia of Union City. We bought a 2002 Nissan Sentra and a 2002 Kia Spectra. We had both vehicles under warranty, had disability insurance on both vehicles and GAP insurance on both.

To begin with we had problems with the KIA idoling too high and took it to the dealership numerous of times to have it fixed. Mind you that we were traveling from Lawrenceville to Union City every time to have it fixed. It would be ok for one minute then it would start up again. They told us that a recall would be coming out soon for our problem and they would fix it then. A recall never came around.

My husband and I were going to trade the KIA in for another vehicle at a different dealership. They told us to take off the GAP insurance as well as the disability insurance and the extended warranty. We did, and what a mistake that turned out to be.

My husband was rearended a few weeks after we took all of this off and so the finance company (Household Automotive Finance) wanted money from us. We looked at the contract and found that the contract the finance company had was not the same contract my husband had signed. There were many differences, i.e. their copy was not marked that we would not be penalized if the car was paid off early, ours was. Their copy showed that we never signed up or paid for disability insurance ours did with my husband's signature. The the real kicker was that my husband's signature was forged. We went to the dealership thinking that maybe the finance company may have done it. We were in for a shock of our lives.

We went in to talk to the manager. He first comes out saying that if we received any money from the disability insurance company and have cashed the checks that we need to pay it to the finance company immediately. We never received any disability insurance payments, they went directly to the fiance company (HAFC). We told him that we were not there regarding the disability payments. This flew a "red flag" already about the dealership.

We then showed the manager the difference in the contract that we had to what the finance company had. He said that maybe we came in and didn't remember it and signed a new contract. We knew that wasn't the case (remember we have to drive from Lawrenceville to Union City "about an hour to an hour and a half drive one way"). Then he said that the person that sends the information over to the finance company can make any changes she wants before sending it to the finance company. Both of us started steaming. We knew that was illegal.

He then proceeded to say that my husband signed a form stating that we gave the dealership a "Power of Attorney". We asked to see a copy of this so-called signed "Power of Attorney". He said that he wouldn't go get our file to get this information and that we should have a copy of it. Just like we should have a copy of what the dealership forged.

In the end, the finance company (HAFC) fraud department determined that my husband's signature was forged, but that he was still bound by the contract because had signed one at the dealership and it didn't matter that they had a forged one. Then we asked for them to show us a copy of the credit application sent to them from the dealership. They sent one to us. A copy of the credit application for the 2002 Nissan not the 2002 Kia (the Kia was financed with HAFC).

We then inturned called NMAC (the finance company for the 2002 Nissan) and asked for a copy of the credit application that was sent to them from the dealership. NMAC told us that they own the application and they will not send us a copy.

All I can say is, DO NOT BUY A CAR FROM NISSAN/KIA OF UNION CITY IN GA!!!! They are frauds and will change your contract and say that you have signed a "Power of Attorney" and that they have a right to change the contract without notifying you.

If you have bought a vehicle from this dealership, your best interest is to contact the finance company you have the vehicle financed through and ask for a copy of your contract that was sent to them from this dealership and make sure that there were no changes and forged signatures. If not, you may be paying for it and not realize it.

I have had the simmilare issues with nissan

i have had simmalure issues with nissan. my husband and i bought new pathfinder 7/28/08 we believed that we financed with citifinacial. three weeks later we receive a noctice form nmac giving us payment options to make our payment. i was confused becaues had not financed with nissan finance. i called right then to find out why they were sending me this information when i did not finance with them. the man was very rude and argued that i had financed with them and they had a signed contract. during that conversation i found out that the finance amount was changed, interest rate increased, and we payed more for our gap insurance. he told me to call the dealership i bought the vehicle from. i called orr nissian in shreveport, la the finace person i spoke with happened to be the same person that wrote up all the contracts for us when we signed our contract. he said that citifinancial rejected us and the contract. I asked him why we were not called back in to sign a new contract and why hadnt we been notified? this was illegal to change any information on a contract after it had been signed. he argued that even though we were paying more in interest that they lowered the purchase price of the vehicle. that wasn't my problem they did it without contacting us and they are not allowed to change a contract after the fact. they can only change it if we agree to sign a new contract in order to find finaceing for the vehicle. come to find out we were not refused financing from citifinacial i called them & they said that the proof of income, and contract were never sent to them to them to finalize the loan. i then called nmac back and requested a copy of the contract (that was signed on 8/7/08 12 days after we purchaced our vehicle). In the mean time i spoke with the owner shortly and he said that they had a "power of attorney" they didn't need to have us sign a new contract that they could do it for us in order to sigure finacing". Bull a power of attorney is only to be used for title work, and they have to sing there own name and then under that pow (power of attorney) and print the customers name. Also, my signiture was not on that power of attorney so they did not have autority or power of attorney as he put it to sign my name. Power of attorney does not give them the right to sign a new contract on your behalf. it is a limited power of attoney. I finally got the contract submitted to nmac yesterday and like i thought they had forged mine and my husband's name. they didnt even make it look the same. i am fileing a forgery report with the attorney generals office tomorrow, and a report with the BBB. I know the president of the BBB quite well my mother-in-law was his office manager up until a year and half ago when she retired. Then i will file criminal charges with the police department. What they did was wrong and even though they lowered the price of the vehilce by a few hundred dollars, to try to justify what they did they still forged mine and my husbands name and that is illegal.
