Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

Upon opening a new business venture, I knew that accepting credit cards for payment was a must.  I searched and located North American Bancard.  They had a good speel...free terminal, low low processing rates, no hassels,, etc.  I contated them through the internet in February and set up a phone consultation with their representative.  Yery nice person, very personable and answered all my questions.  But, what he did not tell me, and what is in the extremely fine print of the agreement is, if you dont like their way of dong busines, it will cost you.

I received the equipment right away but it would not work.  There were no instructions on working with the processing terminal, just a phone number to call for technical support.  I phoned them several times.  I still could not make the terminal accept swiped cards or even manually entering the number.  The version I was sent was wireless and still would not work.

I contacted them to cancel the service and could not reach anyone on the phone.  I did send a email and was sent one back with the information that someone would contact me by phone.  Never happened!  No one called.  I needed to cancel this service and try and get another form of processing set up immediately, or loose sales revenue.

I checked my bank account and noticed a debit from my account in the amount of $39.86.  I immediately contaced customer service and demanded a supervisor.  I was informed that since there was no activity on my account there was a fee for not using it.  I was very surprised by this.  There was never any mention of fees charged for not using a service, especially one so large as approaching $40.00 per month.  I finally got in verbal contact with a representative who said if I return the equipment within 10 days, they would cancel the agreement and no further fees would be assessed.  They sent via email a cancellation letter for me to sign and return with the equipment.  I was told that it needed to be processed as soon as possible to avoid missing the 10 day cancellation period.  So, I send the letter and equipment back via Federal Express, which cost a bundle for three day service.

Now its May, and again my account has been debited $39.86.  I immediately phoned and their "customer service" phone answering individual told me that the fees taken from my bank account were for the month of April.  I argued with her and stated that I had sent the letter and equipment back within the ten day assigned period but she said, no...your account was till open during the month of April and you have to pay the fee.

I told her that in my email correspondence I received it states: " A cancellation letter will be sent to you and you will need to sign and return it along with any equipment provided by us.  Once received, account will be closed.  If the signed cancellation letter is not received, billing will continue".  If an account is closed I would assume no further fees are obligated....Wrong!

The customer service phone individual would not listen and referenced the "agreement terms and conditions" of which I went over and could not find any clause stating that billing would continue month to month at their discretion.  They received the equipment via Federal Express on April 10, 2014... they have since debited my account as of today May 7th.  I voiced my desire of having the charges reversed through my bank.

They sent an email documenting the discussion I had with their "customer service" representative immediately following our conversation.

I guess they pick and choose which days they want to debit accounts.  They have hit my account for almost $80.00 for doing nothing.  I urge everyone to consider carefully the decision of using this company for any type of credit card processing.  Their correspondence is from Troy, Michigan but the "agreement" states all disputes, legal, etc. will be administered in the State of Georgia!
