North American Telephone Company consumer rip-off fraud Atlanta Georgia
I was contacted by North American Telephone offering me 1,000 free minutes to try their service. This cost me $9.95 set up fee. Their rates were to be 3.9 cents per minute. I agreed and gave them my checking account number. I agreed to a $25 a month plan. I was also told I would get an invoice prior to them taking any money out of checking. Without notice 42.20 was taken out.
I was charged for my free minutes, plus for going over the plan, plus for voice mail, that I never ordered.
When this came out of checking it was listed as a draft print charge. I had to call my bank and find out what this was. I never did get an invoice.
I called North American and they told me they would credit my account back in the amount of 30.37. This promise was made by a supervisor. This never happened. I cancelled their service in writing.
It is now a month later. This morning another charge was taken out of my checking account. Today I put a stop payment at the bank for any further withdrawal from this company.
