Nicholas Reed which is a representative of NorthStar Financial claimed that I had been pre-approved for a unsecured Master Card with a credit limit of $2000. Mr. Reed claimed that all I had to do was pay a one time processing fee of $199.90 payable anytime.

This representative stated that all he needed was to verify some information including my bank account information and we could start the process. Fortunately I questioned this gentleman about the whereabouts of this company, I asked for a customer care number with an extension, a manager's name, a website which is northstarfinancial.net, and the unlikeliness of the falsified information that he gave.

This gentleman stated that I would receive a bill everymonth, however, I could pay what I wanted when I wanted, there were no late fees, and that the bill cycle varied. If anyone has credit cards already one would know that this is false. When I asked for a customer care number he stated that I had to give my bank account number first. This is absolutely false. When I began to enquire about telephone extensions, company addresses, manager's names, the man began to stutter because he was lying. Also thanks to this website that I pulled up while I was on the phone with this fraudulent company I was not shamed.

Thanks to this website and the lady that told her story. People investigate and ask questions, I am going to report this man and his fraudulent company to the Better Business Bureau think of all the elderly people that being ripped off. DO NOT GIVE OUT ANY PERSONAL INFORMATION OVER THE PHONE, ESPECIALLY YOUR BANK ACCOUNT NUMBER. People with computers invest in a Firewall system that's how these people got my information,BE VERY CAREFUL. NORTHSTAR FINANCIAL IS A FRAUD.

If you are an employee can you give me the mailing address to this company. Also a different telephone number would be helpful. An owners name of this business would be helpful as well. I did a little digging on their website and contacted the hosting company. The hosting company is fully aware of what is going on and does not care on bit. In fact they are involved in this scam and said that they would have lawyers call me. This hosting company has an address in TX. But as an employee I would love to respond to your questions. Please post them below and I will try to help you and everyone else.

I recently fell for the same Co. but I have received some of my money back, it is time consuming but it's worth a shot. I started by faxing the company letters, the fax number is (602)548-4250 and then I started faxing them copies of every agency I had a complaint placed against them with, after I hit the federal bureau of investions on credit fraud I received a check for some of the money, but not all. Good-Luck.

thought it was a legit company at first but

#5UPDATE Employee

Thu, December 26, 2002

I'm an employee for Northstar Financial. I thought it was a legit company at first but things kept popping up that caught my attention. Like people would ask us to send a letter requiered by law, stateing that we had removed them from the list.

i asked my boss and he said to just hang up and go to the next call. People would also ask where we are based out of and my boss would give a differant awnser everytime. It was really just a bunch of little stuff like that for a while. Then we had to call people back because we forgot to get there Drivers license # so we can cash there checks, and almost everyone we called said they had cannceled or wanted to cancel becuase they never recived anything in the mail.

I'm still an employee with NorthStar(looking for a real job). they have also changed there name from NorthStar to AmeriPlan Financial. If anyone needs info on the company get back to me. [via this report]

P.S. This will more than likely cost me my job so if there are any employers in the Phx area looking for an honest hard working employee get back to mee LOL
