Actually I did not ask them to please please hold a check as you make it out to sound. I told them that I did NOT have a downpayment. They asked if I could come up with one if I had some time and OFFERED to hold a check. This is a very common practice at car dealerships. And it was NOT a bad check because it went through, they just didn't keep up their end of the offer and actually HOLD the check.

Scott, the service manager, called the owner and told me that they would fix the truck and I would only have to pay half. We would split the bill, which was ok with me. Luckily Scott realized that there was a much simpler problem which he fixed, charged me half an hour of labor for and the issue is all cleared up.

Elizabeth: What is your definition of customer service? Any time you buy a used car, you need to have it completely checked out by a mechanic YOU PAY before you buy the car. Furthermore, if you or YOUR mechanic find a problem, you never ever sign the paperwork or take delivery until and unless the problem is fixed. Not all dealers will allow you to take the car to your own mechanic (in which case you should walk out). It sounds like this store was operating above board and did allow you this option. That's a credit to them! There's one more thing, Elizabeth... I don't care how many people disagree with me, YOU wrote them a bad check! If the funds are not in the bank to cover the check, its a BAD CHECK! Asking a merchant to hold it and then either by mistake or otherwise it gets deposited and you get the NSF charge isn't their fault. You used your fingers to write a BAD CHECK. They could have elected to not accept this BAD CHECK to begin with. Instead, they gave you a break. Its their fault, right? When you write a BAD CHECK, the merchant has every right to seek a criminal prosecution of you. However, I would just about bet that Chris and his crew will give you a break again. That Elizabeth IS customer service!

Well she happend to leave out that she put 3000k miles on the truck then called saying "it had a oil leak", and she bought the truck with almost 90k miles on it, they are used vehicles not everyone is going to be perfect, you knew signing the paperwork that all you had was a 30/1000 mile 50/50 warranty meaning NU STAR covers 50% of parts and 50% of labor, as for the check, i told you if you wanted to drive up here i would out of my own pocket give you the $20.00, but yes it would cost just as much in fuel, also NU STAR has posted all over the office that "THE PROSPECTIVE PURCHASER OF A VEHICLEMAY, AT HIS OR HER OWN EXPENSE AND WITH THE APPROVAL OF THE DEALER HAVE THE VEHICLE INSPECTED BY AN INDEPENDENT THIRD PARTY EITHER ON OR OFF THESE PREMISES. So this being said, Im sorry you feel the way you do, but my hands are tied, and what more do you want out of me....

I took the truck to a dealership and got the "oil leak" checked, it turned out to be a Fuel Leak. The Fuel Transfer Pump is cracked, something the dealership said SHOULD have been noticed during a Safety Check. This is a $900 fix. I called and left a message for Larry Wong, we will see what happens.

You ripped yourself off by NOT HAVING THE TRUCK check out before buying! Hopefully you have learned a lesson here and won't make the same mistakes again. They don't have to provide you any service at all, it's a used car lot, that sold a used vehicle. You said that you went over the 30 day/1000 mile warranty, so I fail to see you're complaining about. They even said they would refund your $20.00. Geesh lady, what do you want?
