Oakwood Freedom - Clayton Homes Ripoff shoddy work no warranty Raleigh North Carolina
We moved into our new doulblewide on March 31st, 2004. We were unaware of any bankruptcy or company buy out at that time when we signed the papers. Now, I have a water leak that I did not know about until 3 weeks ago when my bathroom floor started sinking. We had a contractor come out and see what was happening. He verified that the fittings below the floor have been leeking for atleast a year and it was a manufacturing problem. I have called Clayton homes who bought out Oakwood/Freedom homes and they basically said tough luck. I called they warranty people and the said sorry. I called my home owners insurance company that we purchased through Freedom Homes and they said since it was a manufacturing issue, they cannot help me. So basicaly I'm up the creek and a lot of money to repair the floor. The sad thing is, it should have been caught by the so called home inspector. No one will own up to this problem.
