I spent some time with a great rep from SBC this morning and they took off the two months bills from OAN and credited my account for the payment made in August to them. It's called "third party". "Third Party" is where the phone carrier bills back the company that created the bill; in this case it's OAN. I then proceeded to contact the FCC (told to by the SBC rep). I learned a lot about the legalities of such goings on: charging for services that you never authorized and attaching it to your utility (the phone). It's called "Slamming". "Slamming" is completely against the law! I have since now filed a complaint with the CA Attorney General. I also mentioned the story that channel nine news did twice on this company for the grief OAN caused for many customers of Verizon. My next contact is with the CA Public Utility Commission. Together we can make a big difference! I'm glad that our phone carriers are set up the way are to help us with criminals such OAN; you don't have to pay for these charges. However, this is going to cost all of us down the line...think of all the man hours that are being docked by our phone carrier reps...Companies such as this will slowly realize that they aren't going to get away with this kind of blatant, covert stealing! Thank you Bad Business Bureau for being here. If you weren't here I wouldn't of found all that I did and really gotten into doing something about this company. Beck
