Oasis Travel Club Ripoff, Too suspicious to be true Deltona Florida
I too was called by "Oasis Travel Club." I didn't ever pay them any money, but I never will.
Since my husband & I have been on a timeshare trip before (with deep discounts on accommodations, rental car, etc.) and were very pleased, I thought this would be like that, too. But, when the phone lady (it was probably six weeks ago.. I can't remember her name or the details) asked me for my credit card, I gave her the wrong digits because I was wary of the fact that I couldn't "talk to my husband first".
I checked the internet when I got off the phone and I didn't even find RipOff report (I think it was long ago enough that no one had posted yet). I called back the toll free number to ask them a question about it, and all I got was an answering machine (didn't even mention the company name on it). [Needless to say, no "customer service rep" ever returned my call.] Therefore, I was untrusting of the whole thing and decided it was too good to be true. (Thank goodness I gave her the wrong card number!)
Sure enough, when the lady called me on the date we had previously set for the funds to come out of my card (calling to say she "must have copied the card number wrong"), I just politely told her my husband & I weren't interested. And that was the end of it.
If any of you who DID pay them the money ever really do get anything out of it, I'd be interested to hear about it. If so, please post here & do tell the rest of us.
