Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

June 2009 my husband and I applied for a home loan modification under President Obamas plan. Weeks, and months went by and we did not hear anything. When we called the only response we got was "it can take up to three months. We have your application and we are still processing it". Then after getting frustrated like millions of others suffering right now we called back. We were told that some of our paperwork didn't have the loan number and our names on all the papers. Which the packet sent to us did not specify. So we had to send the paper work in again. Lo and behold a week later we received a letter stating we were denied. That following saturday a loan specialist called my husbands cell phone and stated "We at Ocwen are here to help you and we will do our best". He offered my husband twenty dollars off the mortgage. This had to be a joke.

My husband angrily told him hell no. He was then placed on hold and the loan modification specialist came back with a figure that was $304.00 cheaper at a 5.1% rate than the original offer of twenty dollars off our mortgage. Hmmm. So we decided to take the offer. We want to keep our home. The specialist told my husband you will hear back from us at the end of the week. We never heard back from them so like we usually do we called. No one could tell us anything. Finally we spoke to a manager who said that the 5.1% intrest rate deal had been denied. When were we going to be notified? So Ocwen once again told us to resubmit our spending break down over the telephone. How gracious of them. That was just a thought becasue that turned into the specialist saying "we will send another package out to you again". Then the specialist stated "as of today we will start another loan modification process".

After submitting documentation after documentation to this company we have received no help or clarity on anything. People you are not alone when dealing with these unreasonable people. I just don't know who can help me with this process of being falsely denied for a home loan modification when we in fact qualify.

There are more Mortgage Modification scams out there then there are legitimate businesses.

When you choose to do business with some mortgage rescue/modification companies WITHOUT researching them first - you get ripped off.

The information is on the Internet - THE FEDERAL TRADE COMMISSION WEBSITE is the most reputable website to avoid scams - but no one ever BOTHERS to look.  Instead choosing to whats the easiest and most convenient.  Usually basing their decision because they saw or heard an adverstisement making the assumption that if they advertise they must be legit

ADVERTISEMENTS from the Federal Trade Commission website:

The appearance of ads in media outlets that you recognize - like your local newspaper or radio station - is no guarantee of the legitimacy of the company behind the ad.

(NAPS)The possibility of losing your home to foreclosure can be terrifying. The reality that scam artists are preying on the vulnerability of desperate homeownersis equally frightening.

Many so-called foreclosure rescue companies or foreclosure assistance firms claim they can help you save your home.  Some are brazen enough to offer a moneyback guarantee. Unfortunately, once most of these foreclosure fraudsters take your money, they leave you flatwithout doing what they said they would do.

You can save yourself money andmore heartache by avoiding anybusiness that:

Guarantees to stop the foreclosureprocessno matter whatyour circumstances

Advises you not to contact your lender, lawyer, or credit or housingcounselor

Collects a fee before providing any services

Accepts payment only by cashiers check or wire transfer

Encourages you to lease your home so you can buy it back over time

Tells you to make your mortgage payments directly to it, rather than to your lender

Advises you to transfer your property deed or title to it

Offers to buy your house for cash at a price that is below market

Offers to fill out paperwork for you

Pressures you to sign papers you havent had a chance to read thoroughly or that you dont understand.
