This is just a start. When my original first mortgage got sold to OCWEN it was the beginning of hell. Even when I paid on time, I had problems -- like getting a late fee when I mailed the payment in plenty of time for it to get there.

In 2002 I was unemployed for an extended period of time. Eventually I was 30 days late on a mortgage payment. I called customer service to inquire about hardship payments but no one got back to me. I managed to keep the account no more than 30 days late. Then in August I had to let it slip for a couple of days. I got the "we're going to foreclose on you" letter from Codilis and Moss. The short story is, I had to come up with a "forebearance downpayment" almost twice my regular payment and then they INCREASED my monthly payment for 4 months.

This year the prepayment penalty finally expired and I attempted to refinance my home. I got an approveal and to get a better rate my loan officer suggested we wait until the 60-day lates were 12 months behind.

This is where OCWEN started their delay tactics. My last 60-day late had been in September. OCWEN had reported it to the credit bureaus as October. I had to go through a round-robin of conference calls, faxes and rounding up year-old statements to prove the dates.

Then, just before closing the new mortgage, the new lender requested a new payoff amount. The amount OCWEN sent was inflated. It showed almost $4000 in unpaid interest! It showed an inflated balance.

I called them and challenged the figure. I needed to close this loan very soon, so I got them to fax the payoff info to me.

The customer service rep said they would charge me $10 for an expedited fax. They charged me $20. And yes, the new numbers were almost $5000 less than they quoted to the new lender.

More delays. More hoops to jump through, and the refinance failed. I am still stuck with OCWEN and I WANT OUT!!! This is a soulless, greedy company in the business of stealing homes and lives.
