The following link is the listing property for rent, #24E@ One Carnegie Hill. The owner firstly listed as $3500+, and no one wanted it. Once her broker saw me, and made sure that I was very interested, he started playing the game and trying to make me put down three months worth of deposit (that is about $10K!!) When I finally made a sincere offer of two months worth of deposit (already absurd to me!) with a requirement of a flexible moving date (yes, I did really want that apartment,) the owner and her broker got even crazier and ASKED FOR SIX MONTHS WORTH OF DEPOSIT with A RAISE IN RENT PRICE TO $3000.
I was shocked at how the owner of Apt 24E at One Carnegie Hill, 215 E 96th St, NY was only using the listing price to attract people and hoping some one could fall into her trap and full fill her desperation for CASH. I declined the "counter offer" of course, and would like to warn people not to rent this person's apartment because a person who has such greed for cash will continue trying to scam money off you, and who knows if she will return the "6-month worth of deposit" back to you? Where will she use the money and WHY IS SHE SO DESPERATE FOR $$$? Think about it twice before putting you money in her pocket!! Additionally, a person like this would barely spend any money fixing anything in the apartment for you when you need it!!
