One Web Direct Billing fraudulent billing Bedford Internet
I received an invoice from One Web Direct Billing for connections to a live cam web site on 8/31/04 and 9/1/04 to the United Kingdom. In addition, international long distance phone charges from Tellis were on my telephone bill for these two connections. I use a dial up modem.
I nor anyone in my household authorized or initiated these phone calls/web connections. A local television consumer advocate had a report from an individual who had similar web charges from One Web Direct and she noted that they have been known to use phone lines to load viruses onto computers and disconnect the computer from the local phone line and re-connect using the company's more expensive international telephone number. I believe this is what has happened to me.
I am disputing these charges, filing a police report, sending an affidavit swearing I did not authorize these web connections and reporting the company to the local consumer advocate.
