ONLINE VEHICLE SHIPPING SCAMS by craigslist-scam-hunter.blogspot.com 2014-02-28
An online vehicle shipping scam ad will offer a car, truck, motorcycle, RV, ATV, boat or any other kind of vehicle for sale - usually at a discounted sale price to attracl unsuspecting buyers. The sellers usually posts an email address or phone number in their ad, but sometimes uses the online service's own contact form.
If you make contact with one of these scam artists, you will receive some sort of story about a recent divorce, a need to move because of a new job, military staff or service person being deployed - or some other excuse like that. They will ask for your full name, email address if the contact is made by phone, full shipping address , home phone number and will offer to have the vehicle shipped to you using either Google Wallet, Ebay Motors, Ebillme, Amazon Payments or some other online payment service and will express that it is necessary for them to use the payment service to protect both you and them.
They will arrange to have a PHONY/SPOOFED INVOICE from any of these payment services be sent to you and hope that you will send them a payment as per requested in the Fraudulent invoice. Usually that payment is either by Western Union [Ebillme], Money Gram or direct bank wire transfer. Please read the sample response at the bottom of this page. The invoices are never from any of the services advertised - if you know h*e to look at email headers, you will find some other email address that sometimes contains the words google, wallet, ebay, motor, amazon, vehicle, payments, etc. = all PHONY = SCAM!

Subject: Re: 1995 BMW M3 2dr Coupe
Hi
Thank you for being interested in buying my 1995 BMW 3-Series 2dr Coupe M3. The car has been extremely well maintained with a full service history, and has not been involved in any accidents. Only 40,500 miles, the car comes with a 4 Cylinder, 3.0L engine. The manual transmission shifts smoothly and the engine runs great. Title is clear. I bought it when I was serving in Hill AFB, Utah but I was promoted and transferred to Elmendorf AFB in Anchorage Alaska for a 3 years period, so I`m looking to buy a 4x4 truck.
The car is already at our Logistic Department from Hill AFB, Utah crated and ready to go. The shipping will be free for you because I will transport it using the Internal Logistic Department! The Logistic Department will deliver the car to the nearest Air Force Base from your area and from there I will use a tow-truck to have it delivered at your door. The whole shipping process will take 2-3 days. The financial part will be managed by Google Wallet, which means you will have a 7 days inspection period before committing to buy the car. In this way both, buyer and seller are 100% covered during the steps of this transaction.
If you agree with my price $1,500 and you are interested to conclude this purchase in a timely manner email me your: Full name and shipping address, so I can inform Google Wallet that I have a buyer! I will forward your details to them and then you will receive the invoice. Then you will be able to talk with them directly and ask all you want to know.
Hope to hear from you soon!
Thanks,
Lt. Lesley Ann Currie

I google my phone a few weeks ago and found out it has a link to Ripoff Report. I do not know why it is on Ripoff Report as I do not engage in any fraud or scam. Never tried it, never planned, approved or associate with any individual involved in scam activities.
I have not sold any car on Ebay, never. I have never offered to ship car to anyone or told anyone to pay me for car online.
I do sell cars on craigslist but only locally in Atlanta and in cash.
The only thing I can think of is the scamers that normally try to contact me for scam offers and I normally rebuff them and warn them in harsh words not to contact my phone number for scam offers again.
I suspect in the process some or one of the samers must have taken my rebuke or harsh words on them too seriously and would want to get back at me and mischievously added my phone number to rippoff report.
My name is not on Rippoff Report, but my phone number is there. I will want to challenge anyone who put it there to show me proof of any reason why he or she will want to add my phone number there.
Like I said it must be because of my rebuke and harsh words that I throw at them whenever they contact me with scam offers that will make them to mischievously want to get back at me by adding my phone number to Rippoff Report.
Thank you.
Ben.
