Onrebate.com rebate ripoff INTERNET
Well, this is twice that I've been ripped off by Onrebate with the help of TigerDirect.com. Just so you can be warned, here are two of the ways they will stick it to you:
1. I was owed a $70 rebate on a hard drive. ONrebate sent me an email telling me to open a link. When I clicked it I kept getting an error message telling me the page could not be found. This happened several times so I emailed the company. They told me to try again. Still no page. I emailed them again and they never replied. I guess they got to keep the money.
2. I ordered some memory and was to get a $40 rebate. I followed their on-screen instructions and was taken to a page where I had to select the date of my purchase from a drop down menu. I purchased the item in March but the drop down menu began with April. Since this was the only choice offered I selected the current date and finished jumping through the rest of their hoops.
Today I was notified that my rebate was declined because my purchase was outside their "window". I had sent everything in within the time period required but with a little manipulation of their web site they were able to find a way to keep my rebate.
So far, that's $110 they've stolen from me. I followed all of their instructions and they still found a way to keep my money.
And before the mysterious "Nadia" offers to take care of all my problems let me offer this suggestion: How about you take care of the problems before they arise by delivering the rebates as easily as they are advertised?
I've already put in more time on this than I should have to. If you're reading this and don't feel like spending hours of time to get a $40 dollar rebate, my advice is DON'T BUY ITEMS THAT NEED A REBATE TO GET A GOOD DEAL.
And avoid Onrebate.com like the plague.
