Optical Telephone Corporation - ILD Teleservices ripoff fraudulent billing telephone charged for services not requested and calls not made Ponte Vedra Beach Florida
Just got my local Sprint phone bill and it was much higher than usual. I do not have long distance service, only local, so my bill isn't usually very much. However, on this bill there's an addendum with charges from ILD Teleservices (1-800-433-4518) on behalf of Optical Telephone Corp (no web prescence or phone number).
I was charged for setup fees and calls I did not make. Interestingly, all of the calls were made at the exact same time on different days, which leads me to suspect that it is an automated system setup to fraudulently create charges with the hope that people won't notice.
I immediately called the 800 number and was connected to someone. I explained that I was charged for services I did not request or use and that I would not pay this bill. The woman said "Ok, we will remove the charges." And that was that. Hopefully that is the end, but I'll have to wait and see if Sprint complains when I don't pay this. Getting rid of these charges seemed a little too easy--but I do hope it is resolved.
