I made a non-refundable reservation with Orbitz for a leg on a trip to Europe.  Shortly before that trip my husband and I got notice his son was being abused by the co-parent so we had to emergency cancel our entire trip to care and ensure the safety of the child.  I called every hotel we booked directly and asked to reschedule and everyone was accommodating and understanding.  Orbitz said they needed reschedule dates before giving me an answer. 

We finally rescheduled and I've spent hours on the phone with Orbitz more than once trying to get this settled.  $2000+ is a lot of money and after being led on that they were making efforts in fixing this issue, they came back and said they would not honor it.  Frankly I got very upset because on 8/21 after spending almost an hour on the phone the representative told me they would expedite giving me an answer and today, 8/24 no one had gotten back to me.  That representative didn't even bother to log notations on the account so I wouldn't have to start from scratch. 

Today after almost 2 hours on the phone, that's how long it took Orbitz to figure out a way out of honoring my hotel reservation change request told me they would not do it.  No other hotel had a problem with the request and Orbitz is the problem. If I had booked directly with the hotel this problem would not have happened.  Now days have been wasted and I still do not have a hotel in Paris and I'm out over $2,050.  This is not Better Business or Customer Service.  I will never again book anything through Orbitz and will blog and review with my past experiences with them which have been less than positive until they improve their business practices.  Bottom line is best to not use Orbitz.  If I hadn't booked this reservation through them the hotel would've rescheduled my reservation and I would not have been ripped off $2050+ by Orbitz.
