My daughter activated her phone last month on 05-02-2010 with Page Plus Cellular her plan was $40.00 per month for Unlimited Prepaid Talk n Text Monthly Plan + 20MB.  On June 2, 2010 I wanted to pay for continuous service so I went to  a local agents store and I was told the price would now be $44.95 per month of Unlimited Prepaid Talk n Text + 20MB so I paid it.  On June 4, 2010 my daughter got a text saying she had insufficient funds, I called customer service and was told  that when I paid the bill the data to the phone was not shut down and that caused the payment to be withheld and caused the phone to go into per minute usage the customer service rep. said that my daughter tried to download somthing to the phone and even if it does not transmit or except the download we will still be charged but my daughter can not use the internet access because her phone is a verizon phone. I emailed to a supervisor asking what can be done because none of this was our fault and when there is no money on the phone the phone should shut off not charge a per minute usage like they shut her account down now.  This is the response I got from Customer Service at Page Plus Cellular

Unfortunately the credit was applied to the account prior to the renewal date. When doing so it will attach itself to the account as a useable balance. As long as there is sufficient balance on the account to renew the plan it will automatically be renewed once the renewal date is reached. If however there is not a sufficient balance available it will begin to charge at the overage rates of $0.12 per minute and $0.15 per text. In this instance there was data usage on the account beyond the 20 MB available taking from the balance of the account and bringing it below what was needed to renew the plan. A sufficient balance will need to be applied to the account in order to renew the plan at this point.
