Palm Harbor Homes DISHONEST Business dealings dirty ripoff liars Green Acres Washington
We purchased a manufactured home from Palm Harbor 9 May 01.
The first general manager lied to us, made promises that were not kept, called us names and was fired because of it. They brought in several new people after this because each and every one did the same thing and was fired. Finally the president was involved and quit because it was such a mess he couln't handle it. Finally they got one that stayed and wow, what a mess he made of it.
After 2 years, almost losing our land because they promised a 30 day closing that took 6 months, and 2 houses later, the first being hit by another house they were moving off their property and sustained major structural damage that they tried to fix and hide from us, we demanded a new home since that one was damaged and already a year old, they agreed to build us a new one-how gracious. The new president had the order put in. Our land by this time was ready for the house.
The foundation was poured utilities ran etc. The day before the house was due to be brought in we had to go sign new papers for the new house. It was then, after almost 2 years of waiting, they slapped a piece of paper in front of us to sign. Sign the paper promising not to sue or no house no deal. This is a home we have been making mortgage payments on for 5 months.
This is a home that almost killed me because of the stress, ruined my health and our credit. We were bullied into signing the paper, it was just too much, we wanted the nightmare to end. We were wrong to sign the paper, we have tried to get legal representation unsuccesfully. No one will touch the case because we signed that paper. We will now have been in our home a year 11 May 03. 2 years later, $20,000.00 out of our pocket later, ruined credit,and my health still recovering. 2 years later and no deck on the front of our house as promised. No furniture as promised.
No blocked foundation as promised. No wood kitchen cabinets as promised. And not the quality of home as promised. I have all of this documented and have all the promises they made and din't keep in writting from them. There is so much more to the story to much to put in writting here, although I do have everything documented and in writting in my file. People need to know about this rip-off company.
I called the local news station here and was told they have had more compalints about this company than they can count, but they are still in business ripping people off and lying to them. Because of them we have had to file bankruptcy, our credit has been ruined and they are still in business. I want compensation, but have come up against a brick wall every time I have tried to legally do something. Please help if you can. Thank you for listening.
