Also - use "system restore"

Forgot to mention this - use your system restore if you got windows problems from the install..go back to a point prior to the install...then uninstall the other anti-virus programs before the re-installation of Panda. It won't restore the viruses you deleted...just the basic XP parameters and program functions.

must uninstall other anti-virus programs first

You may have a problem since Panda requires that you uninstall all anti-virus programs from other vendors (like MacAfee and Norton). I've run it now for about a month and it is quite decent compared to either one...doesn't slow the system as much as Norton and doesn't have the system errors of MacAfee as much and found many more virus items than either of the others mentioned. One caviat...if you do P2P file sharing using something like BearShare...don't expect that this will keep running...most of those have spyware within their free versions that Panda won't allow to continue. Likely it will remove them and prevent future installation of them. If you downloaded the Panda file, you can re-click on it as if you were going to install it originally and it will pop up a box with an option to "repair install" - don't ever delete the original install file...you will need it if something ever corrupts it. You can also opt to reinstall completely. That should work. Good luck.

Panda Software, the most defective I know of.

I have not been able, to fully be able, to use there Software. I did everything possible, the only solution I found was to use someone else. I bought near $400 worth of Software: 2 of PIS 2004, 2 of PIS 2005, 1 Truprevent and 1 PIS 2006 and 1 Antivirus and Firewall 7.0, they either stop working while trying to install it, or several days to a few months later. I tried everything: restart Computer, make sure everything is right, fully erase my hard drive, its defective. I think their server is down sometimes and the software depends on it, 24 hours, 7 days a week to prove you bought it, if the server is not aware of you, its alarmed, writes you made a mistake, that you did not make, it calls disconnect, wrong user information. I tried Email to them, they said they were busy, or they ignore my email, rarely do they contact me, many days later, a few times. I erased my hard drive and installed my Windows XP, then nothing else, just there Software, it stated my Microsoft Windows XP had near 400 virus and removed them, that caused the computer to expect the Windows CD ROM to replace unknown software. If I get my Computer to accept without problem, when I go online, something drops my firewall and drops my PAV Sig. file, it say Firewall error followed by Antivirus error, they gave me a software fix to install, that never works. Its a fun software, when do I get to have fun with it and make use of the built-in email sender.

re: Panda Software customer service

I agree with David regarding Panda's customer service. I to have sent e-mails for support in the past, and have never received any response (this includes checking my junkmail to make sure the response was not marked as spam). I have not had problems installing the software, and Jack had a good suggestion on how to solve the problem that David is having, however Panda Software needs to shape up their customer service and take responsibility for supporting their customers, and help resolve issues that arise, instead of relying on other internet sources to solve the customers problems for them.

You probably have viruses and or spyware blocking the install. There are ways to clean this out. Some information is on www.securitytango.com and the spyware information on download.com as well as other sites. Panda has an on-line free scan to check for viruses, so does www.antivirus.com (Trend) before you install. Also McAfee has a pre-scan. Anti spyware software should also be run first. You can also post your problem to various computer forums on the internet, or bring to a computer repair shop (I work at one and see these problems all the time.) Jack at www.edi-tech.com
