I have invested in colored diamonds before and was presented with an opportunity to purchase a Pink Diamond from Paragon International Wealth Management. Paragon offered a hard asset, one to hold in your hand, not just paper. When I agreed to purchase the arrangements were that I would receive an insured/tracked package in 24 hours, it would contain the diamond and a GIA report. Package was delayed due to a holiday according to FedEx but I did receive it.

In the box I did find a diamond in a sealed crush proof case, with a description sticker of the contents, however no GIA certificate. I immediately notified my Rep and was told he would inquire as the packages were sent from a different location and he would need to contact them. This could take a few days. I immediately contacted the Credit Card Company and placed a hold on the purchase on the bases that the transaction was not completed as stated. A few days later I received a call from Michael King, Director of Trading, questioning the missing certificate. Again I was told he would research and get back to me. Several days passed and no return call.

After 5 days I followed up with the credit card company, finalized the dispute and asked what to do with the "Diamond". Was told that they would contact the seller and have them contact me with the return instructions. While waiting on the instructions from Paragon I decided to take it to a gemologist for a review and appraisal. The sticker on the crush proof case had specific instruction that the diamond could stick to the glass lid when opened and if opened the GIA certificate would be invalid. The one that I never received..... The gemologist attempted to look through the lid however he said that it was not visible, like it wasn't a diamond. I opened the case to see what the deal was and discovered that the "Diamond" was a piece of glass. Sure did look good it that little case with its sticker and all.

Nearly a year has passed and I continued to e-mail and call Paragon about their fake “Diamond”. I did receive a call from them attempting to sell me a precious color diamond from a rare mine in some rare country where they had exclusive rights and it is so deep that GOD has to get their permission before entering.....

Steer clear of Paragon and always use a credit card to make purchases like this as it is the only protection you will ever get. You have to be diligent in cases like this but there is always a resolution. In this case the credit card company delayed the processing, only because I asked them too, and they never completed the sale. I never lost money because I had the credit card between me and Paragon and FedEx got paid to deliver the package. The only person that got stuck here was Paragon; where it belonged. I just posted this because I just discovered the "Rip Off Repot" and love this type of networking.

Paragon is still in business however they now have a Canadian Address: 5000 Yonge Street, Suite 1901, Toronto, Ontario, M2N 7E9, Canada
