Paramount Acceptance Health Club Training Contract Rip Off Salt Lake City Utah
Paramount Acceptance is a company that handles the billing of gym memberships and personal training packages to gyms apparently all over the country. They may also be doing business as EFT, Group (Effective Personal Training). I can't figure out if they are the same Co or if EFT uses Paramount just for billing. EFT came to my gym back in April 07. I choose a 6 month package at $320. per month for personal training sessions. On my contract it explained the 30 day written cancellation which must be done as registered , return receipt, certified letter. I originally checked on my acct in September. From April to October the billing was handled by a Co called Proserv. When I called in Sept they (Proserv) said that my acct was all paid up for the 6 months and that it was closed out. I thought ok I guess I don't have to send a letter. *This is one tactic I think they use to "trip you up" into not sending a letter. So of course My November Visa statement arrives and I have a $320. charge for EFT I call Proserv and they tell me they closed out my acct and the charges must be from some other co. Enter Paramount. I call the number on my Visa statemnt and get the whole story of needing a letter etc. I send a letter (return receipt/certified mail cost me $5.) to EFT in Florida which is the address listed on my contract. However to CYA I also send one to Paramount in Utah. Well the Florida letter comes back return to sender address unknown (sound familiar to anyone?) another tactic to trip you up you end up losing another month and gaining another $320. To make this saga a bit shorter. It took me 3 billing cycles to get this figured out. I got the run around, I'm in for $960. more than I anticipated. They SCREW YOU. I have contacted the Utah Attorney Gens Office. The internet Search I did of Paramount Acceptance lead me to this site and several other complaint blogs. I also advised the owner of my gym (thankfully my reg Gym membership dues are billed by another more reputable co.) For me this is not a $25. gym membership this is $320. a month! I am so enraged. Ypu will get the run around, You will be passed on to voice mail by a bunch of college drop outs with no skill other than reading a script created by some dirt bag in Utah. BUYER BEWARE. Read all the complaint BLOGS. Also ask them to send you your cancellation in writing. It is very unsettling that these Scammers have my credit card info on file. This has left me to just not trust these type of Health club deals.
