On April 24th, 2013, I paid $100.00 Ryan Daniel Buell for a PRS126 (Demonology 101). I thought, who better to give such a class - they seemed legit and even had a television show where they supposedly exorcised several families from the dark forces of demons (The Name, I am Six, The Devil in Syracuse, The Possession: The Return of I am Six, etc). The PRS University Administrator was Alex Matsuo who had been subsequently terminated from PRS in June or July of 2013. The class was to start on May 3rd . Then the second, then technical issues, then nothing - promises made, promises broken and the class is a year overdue. I later learned from other students that the original start of PRS126 was in the fall of 2012 and was delayed until May of 2013 due to health reasons of the PRS director, Ryan Buell. Below is a excerpt of a post from Alex Matsuo regarding class updates showing the constant delays of the course until the class stopped receiving updates from Ryan in the fall of 2013:

PRS 126: DEMONOLOGY UPDATES 2013

IMPORTANT: This writeboard will be used to post announcements, such as any changes to class times, cancellations, uploading of documents, changes to documents, etc. It is your duty to check Basecamp daily to stay on top with everything. Once we post the syllabus, due dates, etc., you will have a good idea of what’s due, and any major changes, will be posted here. Although we will mass-email you when we make any major changes, do not rely solely on e-mails. To be on the safest of sides, check Basecamp at least two times a day, including the writeboard. Once as early as you can after you wake up, then mid-day we also recommend before retiring for the night.

Meanwhile, I have learned that the course has over 300 other students who are in the same predicament I am in. We’ve paid approximately $35,000 for services that are not delivered. Since the course was delayed, We have witnessed Ryan and Sergey book other events and cancel, refund no one, but we had nowhere to turn to report this fraud.

There are many realistic but unauthenticated stories/rumors of drug abuse, sex abuse, and badly treated fans in PRS’s history. I have witnessed Ryan Buell systematically destroy PRS’s reputation due to delayed and un-refunded education seminars, camp paranormal, events, paranormal radio, fans, to the point they no longer can hide the fact. There are many others in the same situation as me and for a lot more money.

If Ryan and gang chose to work honestly, the could be making millions. But that is not how they work. They don't want to fulfill obligations. I get that he reportedly had cancer. The most deadly of all cancers. But by him advertising and trying to do business, it obligates him to conduct business according to law. It doesn't excuse him. I am seeking a refund but have been caught up in the ridiculousness of tryng to get my money back from this organization of ill repute and watching hundreds of others get burned by Ryan Buells fake company and not having any recourse.

On April 26th, 2014 - Ryan Buell sent out the following message regarding the resuming of overdue PRS126 class Demonology 101:

Announcement - It's Time To Resume

Hello everyone,

This is not the first time that we’ve tried to resume classes before. But I am ready to move forward with this subject and have the proper time to do this webinar that way that I envisioned. Technically, this webinar was completed two times. I promised 4 webinars and some extra-curriculars, and between the three different attempts, we’ve amassed, I believe, over 12 or so classes. But it isn’t what I wanted and I feel that I should re-start the class.

Unfortunately, circumstances beyond my control have prevented me from being able to take the proper time to complete this task, not to mention that this is a heavy subject.

The good news is that, over the past few years and a few attempts to resume, I have amassed quite a lot of materials that I believe will make for one hell of a web-series. As much as I’d love to hype up this subject, the truth is it’s hard to even feel excited when there’s a very sharp disappointment that I feel in not being able to complete this course with satisfaction. At some point, I felt a deep amount of disappointment for not being able to return to this course, and over time, it grew until it became overwhelming. But we here at PRS would like to return to proper form. For 13 years, PRS has been a leader in everything from conferences, events to even educational programs. The past two years… not so much.

By tomorrow, we’ll be laying out a complete new plan for the demonology webinar course. We will also be able to address most of the questions many of you may have.

This will be the last delay for this course. If for whatever reason we cannot resume classes by next month and cannot complete the course by summer, then we will fold and our staff will work with all of you to distribute credits/refunds/etc.

Details involving class dates, new contact info, structure, will roll out tomorrow.

Your patience and support has not been forgotten or ignored. I can’t begin to tell you how thankful I am, which is why I will work to provide you with something special. But we’ll leave it at that, and if all goes well, you’ll be in for a few treats that hopefully will show that your patience was not in vain.

Here we go.

RYAN

In the above post, Ryan claims he completed the class, but not his liking. Frankly, this is an insult to every student as we all know the class was never completed. The "Extra Credit" courses were just that, an never part of the original class. Ryan states that these counted towards the class and the class was completed, but again, no to his liking.

Between April 26th and May 2, there were a few more posts by Ryan - updates, case files uploaded, a survey was released to request information from the class regarding what the class wanted to focus on, etc. The survey was uploaded by Sergey P. on May 5th. There were activities scheduled to occur on May 5,6,7th, but the dates past and we have not heard from anyone from PRS since. Ryan's last post was on May 2nd. Below are a few of his long winded, but unuseful posts:

May 1st

Hello all,

There’s a few things I’d like to address before I pass out (hopefully not on the keyboard itself). You all have questions concerning the demonic. You all want to learn more about the demonic. This is a daunting task, because, as I understand it, this is just a few of the requests that I’ve received: – I’d like to learn how to protect myself against demons – I’d like to learn more about the demonic from the non-Christian point of view. – I’d like to learn more about the history of the demonic, and rely less on the theology. – I’d like to learn about the demonic from a psychological point of view. – I’d like to know why you, Ryan, believe in the demonic. – Do you wear boxers or briefs? – I want to know if demons are real or not. – I’m a paranormal investigator and I want to know how to better handle demonic cases.

These are all great questions (the underwear one is a bit odd, but then again, we are talking about demons, so maybe it isn’t). I could seriously talk about every single one of them for a long, long time. It’s difficult because I try to answer as much as I can. The web classes are supposed to be 1 1/2 hours to 2 hours long, but for those of you who’ve attended the first two PRS 126 courses, you know that sometimes it’s run past the 3 1/2 hour mark. I don’t want to spend time rambling during the live webinar classes, because I also know your time is precious and you don’t have time to sit there and listen to it all.

And believe it or not, the aforementioned questions are pretty vague. For example, how to protect ones self from demons? Well, I know you probably want me to start by giving you prayers and incantations that we’ve used. But that’s not the right thing to do, at least in my view. And that’s what I’m here to teach you. I know I’m only 31. Yet somehow I was given access into this crazy world known as demonology. It’s been 10 years now.

What makes my stance different is that I am not clergy. And I am not a religious demonologist. This may hurt some people’s feelings but there are a lot of people declaring themselves demonologists these days. I’m not here to judge or pick out who is and isn’t. People in the paranormal field love to pick fights, and I believe it’s because the paranormal field has become a battle of ideals rather than on research. In short, the paranormal is just as polarizing as religion.

I am Roman Catholic. But that is not what shapes my views when it comes to my research and investigations. So to return to the point about the “protection” question… instead of giving you a list of prayers I would try to encourage you to think about what it means to be protected/shielded against the demonic. And in order to do that, I believe you need to understand what it is your trying to defend yourself against before you do it. It’s like being attacked in the dark. How does one defend themselves against something they don’t understand?

I make no claim to have all the answers when it comes to the demonic. But I am really hoping and trying to get ALL of you to look at the demonic DIFFERENTLY than you currently do. If you don’t believe in the demonic or you’re a skeptic, that’s fine. You want proof first. Wrong. You don’t need proof in order to understand. You can instead attempt to look at it from a different angle. Allow yourself to believe that perhaps, just perhaps, there is something to the demonic phenomenon. Afterwards, you can then sort it out in your head and in your heart and decide for yourself. Besides, if you don’t believe in the demonic, what’s wrong with entertaining the idea for a couple of weeks? Likewise, for those who believe in the demonic strictly from a Christian viewpoint, you need to allow yourself to see other possibilities. For anyone who is attempting to categorize the demonic in to a neat little box, you’re already off on the wrong foot. You’re going to have to be willing to let go of what you swear you think you know, or what conditions you’re already looking for.

Now, please, do not get offended regarding the above paragraph. I’m not calling anyone out, or referencing anyone in particular. Understand that when it comes to me I meet people with different beliefs and different personalities all the time. The problem is, we project. We project how we view the world on to everything. I’m guilty of it. And I am guilty of entering the world of the demonic with preconceived notions.

Once the course is done, you can go back to believing what you have believed all along. This is such a polarizing subject that I have always lost a fraction of the audience due to the fact that they did not “agree” with what I was saying. I’m not going to stress over that. But I will make an attempt at this point to say that you can’t be expected learn anything if you close your ears just because you don’t like what you hear. On top of that, this is a COURSE and not ONE class. So, one thing I may say in Class Two may carry on into Class Four. You have to look at the whole picture.

I will not be able to fulfill the wishes and demands of everyone here. I’m also aware that some people may have already lost interest due to the time away, and I’m sorry for that. However, the class is here waiting for you whenever you choose to return.

I want to make sure that I am always aware of what the class wants to learn more about. But in order for me to do this, I need some of you to prepare these questions in advance so that I can take the time to group them together, gather my thoughts and do any necessary research, and then answer them. I’m not all-knowing, so I can’t answer every question on the spot, try as I might.

For those of you who are investigators and want to walk away from this class feeling you have more knowledge that you can apply towards your cases, I’d like to know what it is you’re looking for. And the same goes for every other group of questions.

This class roster is diverse, but within each diversity one will find others seeking similar answers. I’d love to be able to sit down with every one of you and answer every question you have, but I cannot do so. But, I think we can come up with ways where we can satisfy all parties.

If I reserve a bonus 20-minute class that focuses on answering questions for investigators, for example, I’m going to pre-select questions or topics, and then free-flow from there.

I’m trying to cater this course for you guys this time. As best as I can. So, that’s going to require some thinking on your end.

Lastly, my absence has obviously angered some who entered this course. Yes, I wish I got here sooner. I’m sorry that some of you have lost faith in this course and/or my abilities to see it through. So, if you’ve made up your mind that you don’t want to be here under any circumstances, you are able to remove yourself from Basecamp on your own. Or, you can contact tech and they can handle that. But you will not be allowed to use this site for negativity. For anyone willing to give this another shot, I’m working hard for you and please let me know how I am doing. I’d appreciate hearing from you from time to time on how you feel the course is going and if it is satisfying. Let me know what I can do to improve.

Thank you.

May 2nd

Hello all,

I hope this finds you well. I wanted to post an announcement so that there’s no discouragement since syllabus and class schedule wasn’t posted. There’s a couple things we feel are necessary to accomplish beforehand. The first is that we are going to be sending out a survey to collect thoughts/opinions on the schedule. The survey will go out on Friday. We ask that you complete it within 48 hours. On top of that, we’ll be reaching out to the class members who are invited to participate in the course in order to ensure that they are aware of the survey and access to Basecamp. There are a number of people who still do not have access for some reason.

Obviously there’s no way we will receive a 100% vote on one particular day and time. But please keep in mind that for those who aren’t able to watch the course live, it will be recorded. We want to collect data on the day, time, length, duration and suggested pace of the course. We also want to ensure that everyone has a chance to provide their vote on this data. 48 hours is still ambitious, but we feel it will suffice.

We’re also in the midst of testing out two new webinar systems and we’re adding some time over the weekend to make our decision as to which one we will go with.

Regardless, we’ll make major headway this weekend between data collection, content uploading, tech support and communication with attendees. Today was a very busy day all around behind-the-scenes.

The survey will be posted on Basecamp and sent via e-mail. Aside from that, make sure to check back on Sunday to see the progress on course set up!

At this point, the tech team will be doing some work and posting updates while I review data and content. We’ll also be introducing the TA, or Teacher Assistant.

All the best,

RYAN

Below is a summary of events for this incomplete (1 year overdue) course from PRS/Ryan Buell:

Class Updates - 2014

Monday, May 5th, 2014 – As you all know, instructor Buell plans to re-boot the course in order to provide the best overall educational experience for the subject of demonology. We’d like some input from you before we post the syllabus for this course. Please provide us a brief summary on one or a few topics within the demonology subject that you’d like instructor Buell to devote some time to discussing. (for example: I’m a paranormal investigator and I’d like to learn more on how to go about detecting signs of demonic phenomenon or I would like to learn more about famous demonic case studies or I’d like to learn more about PRS cases that involve claims of demonic phenomenon).

Please finish this form and submit it to us as soon as you can. Thank you all very much for your time.

Paranormal University

Sunday, May the 4th be with you, 2014 – Hey everyone, per Ryan’s request, we will be sending out a survey to get feedback on this class regarding the new time schedule, as well as some other questions. Everyone should get the survey by Monday 3:00PM PSD. Ryan will be in touch later on today. Thank you all.

Wednesday, April 30th, 2014 (Second Update) – Hello again. Please don’t hate me for spamming your inbox. I just posted a long message, which you can find under the “messages” tab in PRS 126. It involves some important updates and I’d appreciate everyone taking the time to read them. It involves you and what you can do to help me adjust this course to address subjects that are important to you while there’s still time. There’s some other important stuff in there too. So please read when you get a chance. Thank you and good niiiiiiigggghhhttttttt……zzzz..

Wednesday, April 30th, 2014 – Hello all. Additional case reports for “The Incubus” case have been uploaded. I thought I’d give you all an overall update on this class as well. We are going to focus more on case studies, both historical and PRS cases. We are going to delve in to the psychological, the stages of possession, and the fine line between mental illness and possession. And as promised, we are going to review actual evidence taken from cases that involve claims of possession. A good deal of materials have already been posted on one of our first case studies, “The Incubus.” It was a tough case, and we’ve hand-picked select case files in hopes of telling the story in a linear fashion. So, while you await more details and info, my suggestion is to start reviewing the case. An excellent discussion thread was started by PRS 126 student Sarah Y on the case, and I think it’s an excellent idea to debate and theorize. Also, concerning WizIQ. While we are still building this course, we are currently playing around with two other webinar softwares. WizIQ is a good idea, and we may end up sticking with it, but there are just too many problems. What we DON’T want is for something to happen every time class goes on live. And I’ll be doing my part by having everything tested out and rehearsed before each class.

As some of you may recall, I have a new book coming out through HarperCollins. Due to health issues, it’s been delayed quite a bit, but the good news is that it allows for one of the original ideas to remain intact. For those participating in the extra curricular portion of the class, those in the top percentile will be invited to contribute to the book by writing small research articles which will be placed in the demonic section. I know many of you are anxiously awaiting for everything to be put online, and appreciate your patience. This is why we’ve been aiming to put pieces of it up every day, even if it’s one or a few reading materials.

At this time, I will also be happy to try and answer questions you may have about the course subject (the demonic). Your excitement and energy motivate me.

For those of you who may be having a hard time with this website, or understanding how this all works, no problem. Once we take care of a few other things, a PRS staff member will be available every day to work with anyone who needs assistance in understanding how to navigate through Basecamp and WizIQ (or another similar program).

Monday, April 28th, 2014 (evening update) – additional course resources have been posted, including sections hand-picked by Mr. Ed Warren for research (courtesy of Lorraine Warren & Tony Spera). Also updated calendar. To give you a better understanding of what will be going on this week. There’s a lot to be posted. You may have noticed that we’ve been uploading things late at night. Not everything will be this way. I appreciate seeing all the log-ins. Wednesday will be a very busy day for PRS 126 stuff. Until then, please feel free to enjoy reading the class materials, as they will come in handy for the lectures.

Monday, April 28th, 2014 – Class materials have begun being uploaded. We ‘unlocked’ portions of the first case file study, “The Incubus,” which you can find in the ‘files’ section. Additional materials will be uploaded today and every day throughout the week.

Currently - there are 4 overdue scheduled tasks, shown below:

Based on the above posts, you can clearly see the deception. The refusal to refund money, and the outright lies stated for to help Ryan look better. Please note that this is Ryan's standard operating procedure. Over promise, under deliver, and never refund.
