BEWARE, THIS IS A RIP OFF ON AMERICANS!!! IT IS A DOWNLOADABLE SOFTWARE THAT SUPPOSES TO REMOVE SPYWARE. I AM NOT CERTAIN IT WORKS EFFECTIVELY, AS THEY TOOK MY MONEY AND I STILL CANNOT ACCESS THE SOFTWARE!!!THERE ARE MAJOR INSTALLATION PROBLEMS!!!WON'T INSTALL WITHOUT LICENSE, LICENSE WORKS FOR A COUPLE OF DAYS ONLY THEN STATES THAT YOU HAVE DONE TOO MANY INSTALLATIONS, AND WILL NOT ACCEPT LICENSE NUMBERS.
DO NOT GIVE YOUR CREDIT CARD,DEBIT, OR CHECKING ACCCOUNT!THEY DO NOT REFUND!IF FOR ANY REASON, YOUR COMPUTER MALFUNCTIONS AND YOU NEED TO REINSTALL THIS SOFTWARE, YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO REINSTALL BUT HAVE TO RE PURCHASE.
WHEN YOU CONTACT THE COMPANY'S TECH SUPPORT WEBSITE FOR ASSISTANCE, IT ONLY LEADS TO A DEAD END! AS FOR TRYING TO GET THE COMPANY THAT HANDLES THE TRANSACTION WHEN YOU PURCHASE TO REFUND THE PURCHASE PRICE, THE TELEPHONE IS DISCONNECTED, NO FURTHER CONTACT INFORMATION.
LASTLY, THERE IS NO CONTACT, TELEPHONE NUMBER, ADDRESS FOR PARETOLOGIC. SCAM TO THE HIGHEST LEVEL!!! PLEASE PLEASE BEWARE!!!!

I paid with Paypal. They have a phone# for Safecart which processed my order (250-590-2272). I called them and they gave me Paretologic phone #250-370-9229. A polite lady answered and initiated a refund which could take 15 days. So far so good.....

If they are a scam, they have done a lot of work building a large web site. True, their paretologic website is sparse, but they have a long running blog site, with quite a few news releases from publications. It seems to me that a scam wouldn't go to all that much trouble. In general, and on principle, I find their marketing technique offensive: here's a free scanner to find malware, hey! we found some, send us money to unlock the software so we can clean it for you. Software from other companies that do that have shown up in the spyware definition files from more reputable companies. But, they've got your money. So you need to deal with that. I see that they don't have phone numbers on their main website. They have no Canada411 listing (phone book) which would normally be a reason to be suspicious, except that our phone books in BC only include landline customers of Telus. So not being listed can also just mean they have another phone provider -- VOIP or Sprint or somesuch. Still, not listing any phone numbers anywhere seems backwards. Maybe you'll want to do a whois lookup on their domain.
