On February 15, 2014 I had the celebration of my 50th birthday at Club Rotario de Rio Piedras in San Juan PR.  The planning of this party began on December 2012, a year and two months before.   I almost spent $27,000.00 dollars on this party for decoration, venue, coordinator, music, photography, video and choreographer, among other things. Although I was celebrating my birthday, the purpose was to raise funds for a nonprofit organization in PR.

The coordinator was Ms. Josie Quiñones from Party Members Club. I paid her $7,000.00 dollars to include rental, coordination, and decoration among others. I made a contract with her on March 2013. Ms Quiñones is a fraud, she is a professional liar with a lot of charisma and she got herself compromised to do a lot of things and never did them.

Party Members Club (Josie Quiñones) rented me 2 illuminated bars and she only had 1 bar which was not illuminated at the party.   She rented me an illuminated table for the cake which was not illuminated.  She offered me 18 ice buckets decorated with rhinestones to put 2 bottles of champagne at each table.  I bought 60 bottles of champagne.  There were no ice buckets and only 1 bottle of champagne per table and some people didn’t have enough champagne.  Some people didn't get enough food because she was not there to coordinate although I told her to put food in the tables at least three times during the night.

I paid her $250.00 dollars for 2 male performers to act like paparazzi at the beginning of the party, all dressed like the 20’s or 30’s, and there were only two kids that she paid $40.00 and not dressed like paparazzi as explained to me by the administrator of the club.  She told me that the performers are going to be two professional actors that would interact with the people during the party.  I paid her for four poles to be put on each side of a 50 foot long red carpet.  No poles on the sides.  I paid her for 180 cover seats.  She only used 140 because she changed the chairs from the lounge to the ballroom.

She didn’t put red ribbons on all the chairs with black covers, as explained to me, because she left them at her house.  I paid her for three door curtains and she only provided two.  She was supposed to put four red roses arrangements on each table (for a total of 18 tables), around the bottom of the candelabras and lamps, and she supposedly bought 900 roses for the celebration. There were no such amount of roses and some tables had 2 or 3 small vases with between 2 or 4 roses on each arrangement.  They were not on the bottom of the candelabras or lamps as explained to me.  She provided only candelabras and not lamps.

I paid Ms. Quiñones  5 yellow roses arrangements to be presented as a recognition to some of the guests and she gave me only four.  The flower arrangements were a old and not well prepared.  I paid her for 8 acrylic bar seats for four illuminated cocktail tables and she only had 6 as explained to me by the administrator of the club.  I paid her for four coordinator assistants and no one was there, except for her when she did not disappear and she didn’t stay until the end of the party.   She was supposed to put a table for the guest gifts and the gifts were covered under a table in the same box I gave her weeks before the activity.

She was supposed to prepare a 5 feet black tree with red and black feathers and some pendants to put the sitting cards hanging from it. She just put a white little tree branch with some of the sitting cards because she did not put all because of lack of space.  I paid her for four illuminated columns with flower bouquets on the top.  The columns were there but not illuminated and with no flowers on the top.  I paid her for 9 chandeliers and 9 lamps.  She put 18 chandeliers.  She changed the decoration.  She was supposed to hang from the ceilings 4 red and black curtains.  She just put one red curtain.  She was supposed to hang 5 female cabaret silhouettes from the ceiling and against some curtains.

The silhouettes were on the floor behind the guest tables all broken.  She disappeared from the party for almost one and a half hour. The party was delayed for almost one hour. She didn't put all the decoration I made and said that the people at Club Rotario took my belongings, specifically some hats, feather boas, candles and napkins. But, the worst to be said is that she used my decoration the day before in a private party of the members of Club Rotario without my authorization. Now she says that I authorized her and that the ladies members of the club took some of my belongings.

Don't, I repeat, don't hire her. She is a fraud.  She talks to you as if she is a responsible person and she is not.  Before the celebration I gave her husband a recognition plaque because of her enthusiasm with the preparation of the party to show him what I felt about her without knowing the disaster that she was going to make.  I did a huge mistake.  Because of that plaque, she is telling people that I was satisfied with her services and that I recognized her in front of all my guests.  That’s another lie since she was not recognized in front of others.   I didn’t know that she was going to do this to me if I knew, trust me, I would never do that.

This is only part of what she did to me.  I had the worst birthday of my life but I had to smile to the guests and my family.  I had a commitment with other vendors that were witnesses of the disaster she made and they, as professionals, made their best effort for my party to be a success.  Now I have to apologize with my guests and family for what really happened when they have some comments about issues they did not agreed with or didn’t like.  When people ask me about the decoration they made for me or about the lack of food and champagne in the tables.

People, check them out in internet before you make a contract with coordinators. Here is another one I found in a review at weddingwire.com.

“hi I had made reception coordinator by party members club they offer the world to you but.I was embarrassed by them. when I got to the reception the place was dirty from prior activity. my family.and friends was there to see it all. what.was offer in my contract was not there at all. illuminated tables which had no.light.bulbs. .a champagne fountain was never presented. the owner of the restaurant had a different schedule then what was wanted. all alcohol were hot e.I beer. the food menu was wrong so I could eat.

It was my dream wedding.that.ended in disaster. now I call and they don't answer so I can get answer. party members quickly put the blame on the restaurant but no it wasn't it.was them with.poor coordination. when I called that day to speak with Josie she would not take my called and that she.was home taking.a shower when she should have been there. thank you.for a terrible wedding reception.”

Check another review on ripoffreport.com available on the internet. This one is similar to what happened to me.  This is the kind of vendor that drags you to emotional distress and to loose money.  Don’t be afraid to say the truth about this kind of people when you have the evidence to prove it.
