Complaint Review: Patrick Blunt - Internet

DO NOT RENT TO PENNY BRADLEY!! SCAM!! AN UNSCRUPULOUS WOMAN!

Penny Bradley, must be the first MOST twisted, vicious liar, that I have ever come across.  I have ignored this womans lies and remarks and now feel the need to address this. Any intelligent individual could make up their mind  after reading my reply.

WHAT HAPPENED?: Penny Bradley, enquired to rent our villa for 8 people on the 11 of November, 2007. She did mention to me that there would be two more people afterwards to be added to her list of names. I told her that was fine. She asked me all the relevant questions and even was asked by me to fill in our guest form as is the norm, after reading our terms and conditions.  I offered mrs Bradley, a discount based on the fact that there were 8 people. IT ALSO STATED ON OUR WEBSITE THAT UNLESS A PERSON WAS PAYING THE FULL PRICE, THE RATE OFFERED AT THE TIME OF BOOKING OUR VILLA IS ONLY BASED ON THE NUMBER STATED AT THE TIME OF THE ENQUIRY. Many vacation home owners know and do this and are also aware of unscrupulous  renters (like Penny Bradley) who may lie on the number of occupants, some even claim to have two or three persons staying with the hope of getting a big discount and hoping to stay with more number of people (if no one checks)..

I offered Penny, $1065 for the 7 nights instead of $1385 per week ($325 pw discount!!). All was agreed, signed and sealed. Then on 27^th of March 2008, (OVER 4 MONTHS LATER!) Penny suddenly wanted to add possibly more people, but at that moment 3 more people, including the two already agreed on. I wrote an email to say those extra people would be charged if she went ahead. the she sent us just one extra name plus two agreed. It was very calmly and professionally explained to her that we would charge $134  for the extra one person for 7 nights. *Then I later reduced the rate for extra person to, $99 for the week @$14 per night extra!!! If she went ahead with the other two or three (whatever she decided they would make it 11 or 12). Penny does not understand wear and tear or the cleaning costs for all the rooms been used + facilities.

Penny did not like this and rather than use a soft professional or diplomatic tone, she became commanding and threatening from the very beginning. I kept my cool and asked  for her to stick to the original agreement of 8 persons. Or as we exchanged email back and forth, I stated that she could make up the FULL RATE  by $325 and invite as many more as she liked.

She became so unbelievably threatening- what she would do and as most human beings, (would feel when been dictated to), it was painful, irritating and annoying, that someone did not remember this is our home. With all due respect, when my wife and I had invested a huge amount in our luxury five bedroom home and someone like Penny Bradley, comes along ordering you because she had paid $1065 for a week, it is something hard to take!!! We have had many before and after Penny who had been more diplomatic in getting us to allow them more than the number stated at the time of booking. Penny lacked tactics, diplomacy and manners, to say to least!!  We have successfully bought, sold, rented homes in Florida for over 7 years and with a fantastic feedback, good record and many return guests/referrals and PENNY IS STILL (TO THIS DAY) THE FIRST AND ONLY PERSON LIKE THIS.

In the end, in the first week of April, LESS THAN 10 weeks to travel date for early June, Penny demanded (not asked ) that she wanted her $300 booking deposit back. I explained that she can still go ahead but we could not return the booking deposit (the terms are clear on our website), PLUS THE FACT, that we had rejected at least 7 serious enquiries overlapping or matching her dates, in order to leave her dates open as we had committed to the contract with her. Penny Bradley contacted Paypal who reviewed the transaction and declined her request. Paypal even wrote me to re-assure me that I had my grounds and rights after all evidence was emailed to paypal. I suppose Penny got frustrated and thought by slandering my name she would have her way. WRONG!!

Any sensible person can see clearly even reading between the lines that we have done nothing wrong. PENNY BRADLEY IS SIMPLY A SAD, TWISTED, REVEGNFUL, PEA BRAINED WOMAN. I WOULD ADVISE ANY ONE OR ANY OWNER TO AVOID HER AND I W ILL MAKE SURE THAT I INFORM OTHER VACATION HOME OWNERS THAT I KNOW. IT IS THE LIKES OF HER WHO TRY TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF VACATION HOME OWNERS.

 Penny should learn more about keeping to a contract or be ready to pay for extra services IF SHE WANTS EXTRA NOT STRETCH ONE AMOUNT OVER SEVERAL PEOPLE, SHE OBVIOUSLY HAD NEVER RENTED A VILLA BEFORE! OR BOOKED A HOTEL INDEED JUDGING FORM HER MAIL.

I would like to leave anyone reading this to make up their mind. We have been very successful in renting our home and in fact the family who visited after Pennys dates expired, came back the following year again!

 This year we have had three repeat advanced bookings- WE CANNOT BE SUCH HORRIBLE PEOPLE!!! We like penny who claims to work with children (buying pity) are very hard working and work also with a lot of charities and do very imporatnt jobs we are not ready to use to play minds.
