Several weeks ago I tried to use my Paypal account and access was denied. I log into my PP account and find my account has "limited access". I call PP; agent does not want to reveal details to me. It has something to do with a "linked" account. I ask how my account is linked with someone elses. He says it's an email address and calls off the isp domain.

Last year I stayed with my daughter in law while my son was in Iraq, helping with new baby, new home, other kids. In order to continue buying/selling on ebay I had mail delivered at her address and used isp with same domain name. Son returned from Iraq, I went home, updated all my personal info back to my home address. No problems for months. Till now.

Because we have same last name, had similar email address they believe my account is linked to hers. I ask her what happened. She said someone used a credit/debit card number she hadn't even received yet/unactivated, to get money or use via paypal. She cleared up the prob with her personal bank account but never resolved issues with PP and closed her account.

Unable to get money from her, they went after my account. I send emails to them and call. Agent is not helpful. I demand to speak to supervisors. John at first tells me I need to get HER to resolve PP issues and they will lift restrictions on mine. NOT SO! I tell him this is PayPal's problem with her, not mine. I am an innocent bystander they dragged into this, and had to overreach ethical business practice to do so.

Finally John after reviewing my problem-free account of nearly 5 years he agrees to reverse the hold on my account. Later I realize I did not get a time frame in which I could expect to access my funds and call back.

I bypass agent and speak to Nicole, who asserts she is THE supervisor who makes these decisions and not John who overstepped his authority to tell me that. She then takes the same stance: get my daughter in law to resolve her PP issues and they will consider

lifting the freeze on my funds.

I get angry. It's not my place to resolve their issues with her. My account is separate from hers. I know nothing about her account or what has actually happened. To link my account to hers based on similarity of names/isp's is outrageously wrong.

Finally Nicole said to give it 48 hours and check back. I have no choice. I again email my daughter in law and ask her to please continue to work on resolve her issues with PP and she informs me they sent her an email stating they had restored her status with PP and the limited status removed.

Hello!! She has already closed her account! My account is the one with the limited status! They have yet to email me that my account has been restored. Another Paypal screw up?

Before this is all over I may end up having to sue Paypal to gain access to my funds. I am disgusted. I feel betrayed by them.
