PeopleLookup.com - Intelius intelligus.com Fraud advertising with bogus results..They are cheaters and do nothing for you.....Absolute disgrace!!!! Bellevue, Washington
This company capitalizes on your vaunerabilities.They advertised there look up service for $39.99 and then after you have submitted your credit card info the final price is $49.99..The information they sent me was honest to god TEN years old..Imagine my surprize when the very next day they had also billed my credit card for an extra $19.99.That money was billed by Intelligus?? For what?? I have no idea..
I immediately with in 5 minutes of realizing what they had done cancelled via email their service that very day.. I telephone them at the number on the invoice 866-974-6185 you guessed it no response am i not surprized...
I have done the following.1. Sent a registered certified letter to their probably bogus address.2.Filed a fraud claim with the FTC.gov website.3.Reported them to the Washington State Attorneys Generals office.4. Called my bank and filed a disputed charge on my credit card.
To all those looking for loved ones or important people check with The Salvation Army Missing Persons Bureau..I grew up in foster care and they 40 years later found my brother for a nominal donation fee...Good luck..

On 8/10/10: People search company Intellus Inc agreed to pay $1.3 million to settle state allegations that thousands of customers were charged for services they did not sign up for.
The State Attorney General Rob McKenna said that many of the customers thought they were paying less than $5. to look up contact information through websites such as intellus/peoplelookup.com but instead wound up being charged for credit monitoring or other services.....
Thousands & thousands of complaints were filed against this company to the Better Business Bureau and the Attorney Generals office..This was an unfair and deceptive company.
Other states may now go after this company..
Thank You, ripoffreport.com for giving us this tool to stop deceptive companies in their tracks.

To Customer service: Interesting that you responded on here rather than directly to my email request on the day of February 21,2010 11:02 AM..5 minutes after I realized what your service was all about...Oh my! I was on peoplelookup.com I thought.
1. How is it that I started out with a $39.00 charge that inflated to $49.00 by check out?
2.I used the site peoplelookup.co.I gave you no permission what so ever to charge my credit card for $19.95 through Inteligus...It is up to me to CHOOSE if I want that service or not. Not you..Your hope is that people will not notice and then be HOOKED into this service..Naughty!Naughty!
3. No where on your website do you let people know that you are doing this..That is fraud.....
4. The information from peoplelookup.com is TEN years old..
5. A huge THANK YOU to Bank Of America for helping me dispute and then resolve this.
6.peoplelookup.com NEVER RESPONDED to any emails,letters or telephone calls...Why I am getting a response from Inteligus is beyond me...

Post script....After spending some time on the phone with my bank all charges by peoplelookup.com and intelius have been disputed and resolved.. My bank was absolutely professional and very efficent.. Do not let this company think for one minute they can get away with this..Just knuckle down and follow through.. I never did talk with anyone in the company the bank did all the work...Nor have they ever responded to any email or phone calls.
