Pep Boys allowed my car and keys to be STOLEN from their store! corrruption ripped off and scammed Atlanta Georgia
My husband dropped off my 1998 Sedan de Ville Cadillac at the Piedmont Road location at about 10:00 am on Tuesday, July 15. He left the set of valet keys with the car. Only a simple tire change needed to be done.
He arrived at 7:00 p.m. to pick the car up and found that Pep Boys had neither the car nor the keys. The car had been parked in an open lot adjacent to the street. The invoice indicated that the mechanic changed the tire at 12:57. Pep Boys keeps the keys to customers' cars in an open drawer behind a narrow counter that can easily be reached from the other side in the customer reception area.
Since both the car and the keys are missing we have to assume that an employee is involved. However, to be fair, due to the sloppy security, anyone who had done business with this Pep Boys location would know how lax their security measures are and could have simply reached over the counter and grabbed the gold keys with the Cadillac emblem. We did not see any security cameras focused on the key keeping area, either. We filed a police report but I am not optimistic about getting my car back.
THE MORAL OF THIS STORY IS NEVER LEAVE YOUR CAR AND KEYS WITH PEP BOYS!!!! Your car may not be there when you get back.
Does anyone have the corporate phone number and address? I want to get in touch with Bernard J. Korman the CEO.
