the scenario described is highly unlikely. if the cv boots had been cut, it would take several months for the grease to all leak out of the joints and the joints to deteriorate to the point that they would be clicking. there is no way that it would be clicking the next day! i am a master tech for peps and if i see broken cv boots, you can be sure that i will try to sell you new ones. is that a rip off? no, actually a lot of customers appreciate knowing what is in need of repair on their vehicles. if the joint was clicking the next day, i would have to say that the boot had been split open for quite some time. customers have a tendency to become more aware of noises after their vehicle has been serviced. sometimes these noises have been there for quite some time but not noticed. this should not be taken as a insult to customers but as an acknowledgement of a normal tendency.
