Carrie, You need to know that this website is dedicated to defending victims. And that includes onslaughts from corporate shills. You are the loser, my dear, having fallen prey to one of the most mundane fallacies... so out of touch that you don't realize that Sridhar was stuck going back to PEP BOYS to let them repair what they screwed up, unless they had the money to shell out again. That's the law, generally. We don't care if someone is only ripped off for $5, that person will not be ridiculed. We don't care if they misspell words or make mistakes with punctuation, they will not be corrected. We are dedicated to justice and fairness. Ad hominem attacks will not be tolerated; it's like being raped twice.

Hey Johnny...Don't even try to argue with the Editor of this site. He/she thinks that no one should ever have to use common sense, even when they know they are getting the shaft by some company or person.
Maybe if the world used more common sense, or even just opened their eyes for a moment, less people would get ripped of. In the words of Sridhar who filed the original complaint he stated "I don't know why I continued to do this because, since the very first time I took my car there, I have been plagued with nothing less than misery and grief." Duh!!! Wake the hell up loser and quit complaining about Pep Boys. Everybody knows they suck. You knew they sucked for over a year, yet kept going back for more abuse. Take some responsibility for your miserable situation. There are plenty of qualified mechanics in every city and you should have left Pep Boys after the first miserable experience.

again im not defending the company and saying they do nothing wrong, they do, we all do, im just wondering how someone let a company take 1,200 bucks out of them. as for the retuned parts, if they can't reproduce then you don't pay the bill. it's that simple its your right. again all im trying to get out of this is the hole story.

What is truly amazing about this story is that an employee from Pennsylvania is defending the practices of a store in California. Sounds like perhaps it is a matter of policy?
This, coupled with the fact that this scenario repeats itself. Just look at all the other Pep Boy ripoffs. This Pep Boy shill has ineffectively tried to deflect the issues.
There is evidence from reports on this website, that Pep Boys does NOT always save replaced parts, even when requested. In one case, when the individual confronted Pep Boys about the replaced parts, they tried to pass off parts from a different vehicle.
This seems to be a nationwide problem with Pepboys.

ok so you got a car problem that was not detected at the time, you failed to put in why the car was there in the first place, some sort of eletrical problem i take it, since a altinator was done on it. and every time you took it there in the past year it has another problem, so why would you take it back to them again and agian , go to another pepboys im sure out there they are a dime a dozen. why did you let them replace that altinator, you gave the ok, and if it was good you should of kept it. also this 1200 buck you put out what was it for thats a good bit of money, if your spending that, there is something very odd you are trying to chase and fix, im not saying somethings right or wrong here , but it seems there is more to this story like most, i see on here
