I have bought two complete sets of tires from here in the last two years. My car hasn't ridden right since I started purchasing their tires. The final straw came the other day.

I changed to a bigger set of tires last March. When I went in, it was just for tires. Nothing appeared to be wrong with my vehicle other than I needed an alignment. I came out with a huge bill, a broke rim, and lugnuts missing. My car still wasn't right, I had a vibration so I took it back. They told me my castor on my right side was broken, same side as the broken rim and I should take it and have it fixed at an alignment shop or dealer.

I replaced a tire in October from having a flat.

Guess what, here it is March, the 70,000 mile tires I have haven't had 20,000 miles put on them and two of them were worn. I took it to get my tires rotated and balanced before taking it to a real alignment shop and ended up with two new tires. The alignment shop who has a A+ reputation and really knows their work called me and told me that my car was a little out of line but all four of my tires were out of round. (That means they weren't good tires and that when they rotate on your wheel they do not hit the pavement evenly) I called Pep Boys and told them this, of course they said it was unusual to get that many tires that were bad but from what I have been reading on websites this seems to be the norm for Pep Boys.

The manager said he could check my new tires and if he thought they weren't right, he would replace them. The car still rides rough so whatever happened to the customer is always right. He said he could only prorate my back tires which means I would have to pay all of the fees again. I only got back $22 for the last two I just bought and ended up paying them another $100. The whole thing sums up to, if you buy tires from here, you are opeing up a money pit!

I called 1-800-pep boys to complain and they haven't called me back.
