Pepboys ripoff repair by idiot morons ..the endless drip, San Antonio Texas
I took my wifes 95 astro van into pepboys to diagnose and repair a minor leak. To my amazement the bill came to $497.00 for a new radiator and 6 hours of waiting. One week later i returned to pepboys with the same leak.
Now the mechanis states under pressurization testing he could not detect any problems with the hoses or pump. He stated the leak was proably due to over heating and boil over from him overfilling the cooling system. and three hours later.
Now it is six weeks later and still the leak is present I returned to pepboys for a third time. Now they yell me it is the water pump which they had just tested and is leaking, also recommend changing out all the hoses, due to extreme wear and tear at a cost of $425.00 now I said no I will not pay for repairs that I believe was the original problem only missed diagnosed due to the inability of a mechanic.
I to have worked on many of cars and trucks and this is totally un called for. What can be done and please advise. the store is in san antonio tx. on walzem.
At a cost to me of $497.00 for repairs and $200.00 of time spent on diagnosing and non-repair of the original problem.
