Complaint Review: Perfect Sense Events- Lucy Rodriguez - orlando Florida

  My husband and I hired Lucy Rodriguez to plan our Feb 21,09 wedding in Aug of 08. At first she was a sweet lady and sounded like she knew what she was doing, I mean she told us she has been doing this for five years. As we start to plan our wedding with her every meeting we had she was always about 30 mintues late having a excuse for every time she was late and not answering our calls to see where she is. In mid december we had a meeting scheduled for our food and cake tasting. The day before the scheduled meeting, we had to call her to see if everything was still scheduled, once again she did not answer our call. That morning she had called my mother to cancel our meeting due to her uncle being really sick in the hospital(i dont want to say thats not true or an excuse but we should have known prior to the day of). We did not here anything from her until after New Year Eve. 1 month before the wedding. At the next meeting she was once again late but this time it was almost an hour.

We had discussed her having a crew to set up the hall the night before the wedding. Now listen to this THE CREW WHAT CREW? who helped her set up was MY two guy cousins,my mother, my sister,my bestfriend and oh yeah ME(the bride) what's THAT? She said she couldnt hire anyone to help cuz since we werent able to set up until 10pm she would have to pay them more money after 11pm. So my mother decided to just help to get it done and over with. We did not leave the hall til almost 2 am. That night showed me how unorganized she was as we sat in the hall waiting for one of her vendors to deliver the tables which by the way took awhile. Before we left she had told us she will be at the hall at 8am to completly decorate the tables and finish setting up.

The day of the wedding ceremony goes great as our pastor we chose did an excellent job. We reach the reception site and here comes my mother telling me and my  husband that lucy was not there and the hall wasnt finished. As my guests arrived my mom had no choice to let them into the unfinished hall and begin our reception. THE thing that makes me think is we got to the hall at 5pm and it was not ready for our arrival. I wonder what was she doing for those 8 hours. Oh yeah me and my bidal crew waited outside in this florida heat for about an hour and a half. Now we finlly get annouced in we do our first dance, father daughter dance,and mother son dance and still waited for about 45 mins for our food to arrive. We finally ate about 3 hours after we arrived to the hall. Now LISTEN to this My cake was not the cake WE picked nor the decorations. My Cake looked homemade and had tape wrapped around each layer to look like the satin trim. We had picked the pineapple flavor but we gotten the plain typical WHITE cake. What is really embarrassing is her crew were taking food off my guests plate with their hands because they felt like they had to much food and also telling our 5 year old neice who wanted more rice to wait til everyone is served. The dj played and at 11:30pm music was cut lights were on and the clean up began the wedding was over but we still had thirty minutes left. And she stole the extra drinks we purchased for our wedding.

I call lucy up to speak to her about our wedding and how we feel we have been overcharged. In that conversation she had admitted to me that my original cake we wanted fell on the floor. When asked to show me an invoice of the original cake and the one served at my wedding she could not provide it. Also she still cahrged me for HER mistake. So to me I truly believe she served us a homemade cake. the frosting in this cake had like in imprint of fingers running thru it it was lopsided and TAPE..C'mon. I was so dissappointed i couldnt eat the cake.

So for everyone DO NOT USE HER... She will ruin your event.. For everyone thats a victim LETS DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS. I AM.
