Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
In May, 2007, Perkins Van Lines moved and stored my household goods. They told me that they would bill me for the storage when I picked it up. I was preparing to deploy to the Middle East. They began charging me for storage in July, despite what we had agreed to in May. I let it go as they were only charging the amount per month that we'd agreed upon and I am currently deployed overseas. In November, 2007, I began trying to contact them in order to make arrangements to retrieve my things. I discovered that all of their phone numbers had been disconnected, to include fax machines, and 800 numbers. I then tried emailing and got no response. Then I tried contacting them via their websites; again, no response. I then asked a friend to drive to the office on Bacon Drive, where I had last seen my things the day after the move. My friend told me that they are gone. She took pictures for me and interviewed neighboring businesses in an effort to locate Perkins. The neighboring business owners claimed to know nothing of Perkins-- and Perkins was clearly gone from the location-- the pictures she took show that it is closed up. I then contacted the Prince George's County police to file a theft report, but as I am not there, was told I would have to either return to the U.S. to file, or have a friend file the report. My friend intends to file the theft report on my behalf this week.

Additionally, I wrote a complaint to the Maryland Attorney General's office and sent copies of my complaint to various Maryland Congressmen and Senators. According to Senator Levy's aide, a mediator has been assigned to my case; however, I have not heard from him, yet. After much googling, I discovered a website created by Raimondas Viskontas and, presumably, his wife Rimma Ezhurova, dedicated to their infant son, Oskaras. I emailed them asking for my property earlier today. I do not expect to receive a response. The website they've created has pictures of themselves, their son, family and friends, as well as recent vacation pictures (in November) of them w/ their son in Niagara Falls; all posted on the website http://oskaras.org/. I have copied the photos and sent them to my friend so she can pass them to the police. I also contacted the Department Of Transportation-- they have suspended Perkins' operating license. Juan Jimenez is listed as the co-owner of the business. I worked primarily with Sean Smith to arrange my move, he is also named in various complaints. Raimondas Viskontas goes by the aliases Ray Visca, Ray Viska, and Ray Visra. After doing a search of public records, I discovered addresses in common for the companies (both Perkins and Capital), as well as Raimondas Viskontas, Rimma Ezhurova, Sean Smith, and Juan Jimenez. This leads me to believe that they are all working together. I have not, yet, mailed letters to these addresses, but I do intend to mail registered letters to all of the addresses I found, later this week. Incidentally, a coworker (and fellow deployee) also used Perkins prior to deploying and is now in the same boat. Also, FYI, Perkins is not a member of the Better Business Bureau, but the BBB has many, many complaints on them.
