When I was using the internet I received a pop up that looked like a microsoft popup stating that my firewall had been compromised. Over the next few minutes more and more pops came on to the screen stating that the only way to protect my information was to buy personal security antivirus protection.

I could not stop the pop ups and the situation appeared to get worse so I bought the software, and almost immediately knew I made a mistake.  Next, I managed to get off the internet and back on and looked up personal security on line and realized I had been duped-- this was January 31, 2010.  I immediately contacted my credit card company because I had NO information about who I just gave my credit card number to.  At first they called it fraud, but then they backed off and said that I needed to get documentation.  I told them it was internet fraud.  When I received my credit card statement the vendor was "nanosecmarket.com".  I checked the website and it wanted an order number for me to get past first base.  I didn't have an order number and the website did not list a phone number.

I found some information on the internet about this scam and wrote a statement and sent it to the credit card company.  They say its not good enough.  If my authorization was procured by fraud, I don't know how I can prove this type of crime with the documentation they seem to want.   I did have a receipt for the money I paid to remove the personal security virus - but that wasn't good enough either.  I am not sure who I am  more disturbed by the scammer or the credit card company....
