The Philadelphia Police Department is allowing six cops from a narcotics unit to remain employed, even though there is significant evidence that they robbed, sexually assaulted, framed, and severely beat innocent people. This squad has already cost taxpayers well into seven figures, in part to settle myriad lawsuits against them. The only reason that the media found out about about these six disgraceful cop thugs is that a city investigator, Wellington Stubbs, tipped them off. Stubbs was fired in retaliation. Earlier this year, District Attorney Seth Williams announced that he would no longer ask these six officers to testify in criminal court, a de facto admission that they are criminals with no credibility. Williams also dropped charges against a staggering 270 defendants who had open criminal cases involving arrests by these typically felonious Philadelphia policemen. The six bad cops are Thomas Liciardello, Brian Reynolds, John Speiser, Michael Spicer, Perry Betts, and Robert Otto. Do not count on any of these criminal cops ever being brought to justice. Almost all of Philadelphia's criminal cops are immune from being fired, much less prosecuted, as per a recent study conducted by independent prosecutor Ellen Green-Ceissler. Several other Philadelphia police officers were captured on video perpetrating violent felonies against proven-innocent taxpayers who ironically pay them for protection. Yet, all of these coward cop thugs still wear Philly police badges. For proof, google the videos of Officers Alberto Lopez, Jimmy Leocal, or Jonathan Josey, to name just a few. None were legitimately disciplined, except for one (Josey) who faced a sham prosecution, was acquitted by a biased judge whose wife is a city cop and who had received endorsements and campaign contributions (aka bribes) from the police union, and was ultimately "punished" with a PAID yearlong vacation. There will never be any meaningful accountability in Philadelphia's corrupt joke of a police department, thanks in part to the crooked union that actually runs it.
