According to Amnesty International, Philadelphia's police department is tied with Pakistan's as being the world's most brutal and corrupt. Embodying this misconduct are six Philadelphia cops from one squad have been accused by many citizens of robbery, assault, false arrest, and other crimes. Those six are Perry Betts, Michael Spicer, Thomas Liciardello, Brian Reynolds, Joseph McCloskey, and Linwood Norman. Despite hundreds of citizen complaints against them, and over a million dollars paid by taxpayers to settle lawsuits against them, those six thugs are STILL COPS! The latest publicity about them is published in the January 19, 2014 issue of the Philadelphia Inquirer (google the article, "Grand Jury Probing Corruption in Phila. Police Narcotics Unit".) A December 8, 2013 Philadelphia Inquirer article professed that 134 Philadelphia police officers have been fired for committing crimes from 2008 through October, 2013. Those 134 are merely the tip of the police-crime iceberg, as an investigation conducted by independent prosecutor Ellen Green-Ceissler revealed that, in effect, over 90% of Philadelphia's crooked cops are not even fired, much less prosecuted. Considering the aforementioned facts, as well as other pertinent factors like the average 25-year career length of policemen and the mean 16 years of employemnt at the time of their arrests, one can empirically extrapolate that over six percent of Philadelphia police officers will be arrested during their careers, and over 60% of Philly cops are criminals. Do the math. Better yet, take action if you are a Philadelphian.
