Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

It's embarrassing to admit that Phoenix Financial Group was able to prey on our situation.  If we had read the "Rip Off Report" first, I wouldn't have to be writing. They repeatedly contacted us with their offer to help with our unresolved IRS issue. They were very convincing and exceedingly sympathetic, explaining that with their expertise this could all be handled for a sum of $1,000. paid in installments of $300.00 a month.  That may seem like a small amount to some, but on a fixed income, it is very meaningful. Our contract was never signed by Michael Wright, President of Phoenix Financial Group, although his name appeared on the line opposite our signature.

Two weeks passed without any word from this company after they electronically transferred the first $300.00.  When we called for an update we were sent a transcript from the IRS, which we could have ordered ourselves. Nothing else had been accomplished.  Then, within a couple of days, we received a call from the person who had originally contacted us, Michael Poe. He asked if we had a copy of the contract and asked us to fax him a copy of ours, which we did.  Within two days, another representative from Phoenix Financial Group called to explain that a mistake had been made, that the original sales person misquoted the amount required.  The actual amount would be $5,000.00.  We were beginning to become suspicious of this company by then and told this representative that we did not wish to continue and to please refund the original $300.00 and the contract would be null and void.  Since the originating party had not signed the contract, it is my understanding that we do not have a fully ratified contract.

Our bank has now blocked any further electronic withdrawals and we have launched an investigation with the fraud department.  In addition, a report will be made to the Better Business Bureau, the FSA, and the FTC outlining the events as they occured.  We continue calling in an attempt to obtain an response from Phoenix Financial Group, but  we wish we had never heard their name! Do not do business with this firm as they will find a way to take advantage if given the opportunity.
