Avertised wholesale metal detectors for bid showing a minelab detector, a one day wholesale sale, after I won the bid, she e-mailed me for the money, said she would get it out to me as fast as possible. A friend told me that there was no way I could have won a minelab for that price, and we looked up small print-it said that the detector was a facsimily of what I would get.

I emailed her to ask what brand of detector I was to get. She emailed me back saying that I would not get no detector but instead I would get a catalog on where to buy one.

That's not what her ad said. It shows a new minelab detector with the words wholesale, and I could sell it at a profit, which is not what I wanted. I bid on a minelab detector. I was willing to take my lumps and except another brand. The ad said nothing about a catalog.

I tried to get intouch with ebay. They ignore me, send me from site to site when I try to reach them. It's like you got suckered, live with it. I'll never trust ebay again

ebay removed [email protected] from thier site due to fraud! seems like there was a lot of complaints,I wasnt the only one who got burnt, and she lied about recieving your bid--no one recieved anything from her! I dont understand why they let her set up shop anyhow, but I guess a few will get in anyway. At least she wont burn anyone else till she changes her I D and starts selling something else.thankyou all for listening, and I hope you dont get burnt!

In response to... (people who defend people who scam others deserve to be scammed themselfs!) Sometimes a scam is in the eye of the person that feels scamed and no one else. Again, I don't believe that you read what it was you were really buying. It's that simple. I would no more defend someone (that I believe was a scammer) than I would a wife beater or any other bad person, however, I do feel that it is my right to add some logic to the mix and I believe that I've done that here. Moreover, I wouldn't wish punishment/ill will on anyone (who I feel) is defending another. I would simply see it as a matter of personal view, etc., and look for any logic in it that might be found. The Good Lord is in charge of the rest in the end anyway. At any rate, I'm glad that you're getting this resolved with the seller and I hope that your refund is a fast one. Rita

I recieved an email from pinktinkerbelle stating that she/he would return my money if I would give her?him a 100% positive feedback,I told her/him that I would do so..my son is now helping me with this matter.im an old man and i guess i should not bid on ebay- .the add i bid on was very deceptive, created to cheat the anxious people wanting a product,no where was a list mentioned in the add, which has been changed since i won.my son told me that it is a very clever add and designed to decieve, but remain legal, this person will change names and run the con over and over, changing when needed.ebay dont proof read thier adds, they are just in it for the money, so buyer beware! p.s. people who defend people who scam others deserve to be scammed themselfs!

Ad's Can't Be Changed

#5Consumer Comment

The only way a description can be changed is if the item has ZERO bids, or has more than 24 hrs to go before the auction ends. So after you bid and won there is ZERO way for the seller to go back and change the ad. It sounds as though you didn't read the auction COMPLETELY and instead had a case of wonderlust thinking you were getting an awesome product for very cheap. You can try to get your money back thru pay pal IF you can prove that you were deceived...but that will take some time, and IF the seller can prove that you were at fault you will get nothing. Good luck.

Very Deceptive Seller

#7Consumer Suggestion

I looked up the auctions of pinktinkerbelle22 on eBay. The seller has only been a member a little over a week and already has 172 auctions either done or in progress. The feedback so far is only 75% positive, which is extremely low for eBay sellers. I found one of his/her auctions (item #5633956216) for what was titled "BRAND NEW METAL DETECTOR wholesale list FREE SHIPPING!!" There is a photo of a metal detector. I am assuming that the other 171 auctions listings are similar. Yes, if you read the item description carefully you will find that the seller is offering only a list where one can buy metal detectors wholesale. But why is "BRAND NEW METAL DETECTOR," which is not the item offered, in upper case while "wholesale list" is in lower case? Why is there a photo of a metal detector, which is not the item actually offered, but no photo of this wholesale list? Why is the seller offering "FREE SHIPPING!!" on an item that the seller states in fine print will be sent by email? The seller even admits that the item is "intangible." How does one "ship" an intangible item? Isn't the offer of "FREE SHIPPING!!" meant to lead the bidder into believing that he was getting a tangible item? Why is the seller offering this email list as "BRAND NEW?" Gee, don't you just hate buying used emails? The seller has created a very deceptive offer. He/she uses photos and uppercase text to make it appear that a brand new metal detector is being offered when only a list of where to buy them wholesale will be delivered by email. The seller had the option of acurately describing what he was selling and he chose to be dishonest. Elmer, here's how to take revenge: post the list of wholesalers here! Pinktinkerbelle22 has no copyright on this as one cannot copyright a list. You paid for it and now it is yours to do with as you please. Heck, email a copy to everyone you know with a CC to pinktinkerbelle22. BTW, was the list any good or was it just the same info you could clip out of a metal detector magazine?

One more thing... Because you gave the wrong seller name "Pinktinkerbelle" instead of the right name "Pinkerbelle22" there is now an innocent ebayer's name appearing on a rip-off bait and switch report. Well, I believe that there is perhaps two. If you did your ebay bidding much like this report (not getting the facts correct) I can see how you got yourself into this one. You don't appear to have a handle on reading things through, including who you have bought from. Now I don't know about you but the integrity of my user name is important to me. If I came across it being so hastily and wrongly used, I'd be pretty dang mad. Good luck to you the next time that you buy something that you have to put together with . directions.

I'm not so sure that you were mislead unless I can read the auction that you won. The seller "pinktinkerbelle22" (if that's the seller you dealt with and I believe that it is) has clearly stated on another auction that the item was a BRAND NEW CHAINSAW wholesale list. The seller went on to talk about the deals one can find and again it says...You will be getting the best wholesale list ever. Then she goes on to say...This is a list of real contacts. And last but not least, she goes on to say... If you are planning to start your own business or already have a business this list is perfect for you. I counted at least 4 times that the word "list" was the description of the item, yet the person that won the bid too said that he or she was mislead in the negative feedback left for the seller. This tells me that the bidder didn't bother to read a thing and relied on the photo of the chainsaw and the bidding price alone. The buyer (as I see it) was not mislead. I went on to look at the seller's selling list and found listed this...BRAND NEW METAL DETECTORwholesale list. The key words for this item states this...You will be getting the best wholesale list ever. And this again...This is a list of real contacts. And again this...If you are planning to start your own business or already have a business this list is perfect for you. If this is the seller you dealt with, you haven't left feedback for us to see the auction. As it sits right now, this is a fairly new seller with only 3 feedbacks, and I read what was won on each and they all state clearly and more than once that the item is a list for products. As I see it, you have not proven in my eyes that you were ripped off in the least unless I can see what was stated on the auction. What I do see is that perhaps you were like the other guy and didn't read what you were buying.
