Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
A sales rep (unable to read signature on contract) came out on 5-19-07 to sell us on the Pinnacle Security System. He said the installation & equipment would be free if we signed up for a 3 yr contract. We asked if the key pad could be installed by the front door & could they use the "old ADT" system w/ monitors - due to it was already in place but not activated? He said YES! We thought that was a good deal, due to already being in place & they were small. He told us that they would monitor all the down stairs windows & doors on this "8 point system."

We had the installer come out on 5-23-07 at 6:30PM. We were told the installation would take 45min-90min to do. He was there until about 9:20PM! We were unsure of the equipment then, but by being late in the day we just went to sleep & looked at it the next day after we got off work. They couldn't use our old equipment & installed all new monitors (which were HUGE), couldn't put the key pad at our front door - due to the wires - so they placed it near the garage door, they screwed in a monitor to our wooden frame without asking - due to the glue wouldn't stick, the main key pad is 3X as large as the old one w/o a saftey cover like ADT. When we tried to cancel, we were told that we would have to pay off the 3 yr contract. We were only allowed 3 days from the "effective date" & not when it was actually installed.

We spoke with Pinnacle & they said "Sorry if the Rep mislead you, but nothing is a promise about using another system." I then said that the rep sold us on what we pretty much already had & again, all we received was Sorry. One window wasn't even covered under the monitoring b/c they already used all 8 points, but they could have someone come out & upgrade one more monitor (normally $75, but maybe they could work out a deal with you). We were also told that the motion sensor would "probably" pick up if someone were to come through that window. No matter what we said, we are still responsible for the contract.

BEWARE of this company who wasn't suppose to come in our neighborhood anyway, due to we have NO SOLICITING at our entrance.

Almost all of the sales reps that you find with any security company are college students that are working for the summer. These sales reps can get over zealous and and a lot of times tell the customer exacly what they want to hear, whether it is true or not. Unfortunately, security companies (whether it be Pinnacle, ADT, etc...) will not be able to confirm what was said by the sales rep as usually they are only with the company for one summer. In these cases, the companies need to go by the contract that was signed by the customer. There is nothing that I can do (as a lower end employee who tries to keep it real for our customers) except advise you to read any contract carefully before you sign. Also, if you are truly not interested in the system in the first place, don't hesitate to just close the door! Best of luck in the future... Anonymous employee
