Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
I have been contacted at work by a subject named Robert Thompson from PCR demanding payment on a $167,000 loan that is not mine. This person said I had not made a payment since 2006 and they were going to garnish my wages. I told him that there must have been some mistake because I do not owe that much on my student loan (I didn't even borrow that much!) and I have been making monthly payments for years.

I told him that I could not discuss this at work since I work at a 911 call center and have to answer IMPORTANT calls. That's when he got nasty and said we needed to take care of this right now or they were going to go ahead with the garnishment. I told him to do what they needed to do, but I would NOT discuss this at work.

I wondered if I had allegedly not made a payment since 2006, then why were they just now calling me and telling me? That was easy enough to disprove, I just printed out a copy of my payment history from Sallie Mae.

I wondered if I owed the unbelievable amount that he quoted me, why did it not show up on my credit report I printed earlier this year? Again, easy enough as I have a copy of that, too.

After hanging up, this man called back and spoke to my dispatch partner asking all these questions about who to speak to about garnishing my wages. Well, my partner was not sure, and that's when he insulted him by saying "You are the police department, aren't you supposed to help me?"

I called back the next business day and was transferred around until I got to Mr Personality again. He gave me an SSN that was not mine, so that should have proved right then and there, but that was not good enough. He said they had spoken to my HR and that my work verified that it was me. He also gave me a name on the account that does not match mine. They asked me have I ever gone by another name or with another SSN, like I was some kind of criminal or master of disguise. I said no, of course not.

How do you argue with that? I say it is not me and that's not good enough. After I repeatedly asked Mr Thompson to let me speak to a supervisor or someone else because he was not helping me, HE HUNG UP ON ME! Can you imagine?

Today I talked to a "manager" and was stonewalled by him as well saying I would have to talk to my HR person. Well, I have done that and they have never told these people anything. They are making empty threats and embarrassing me at work. Attempts made by my HR director to call and resolve this have gone to voicemail.

These people have no people skills and in some cases, no personality. This is a nightmare. I am taking my case to the BBB and the Attorney General. Surely they cannot continue to harrass and defame my character.

STOP! ..before you think about using the Better Business Bureau (BBB)... CLICK HERE to see how other consumers were victimized by the BBB's false or misleading information. Don't be fooled! It has been reported, when there are thousands of complaints and other investigations underway by authorities, the BBB has no choice but to finally give an UNsatisfactory rating to a BBB member business that is paying the BBB big membership fees every year. When a business is reported that is NOT a BBB member, BBB files WILL more likely show an UNsatisfactory rating, then reportedly shake down that company to become a member of the BBB. One positive thing about the BBB is, either way, if a business has an unsatisfactory rating with the BBB, you can be sure, the business is bad. But what about all those BBB member businesses that had complaints filed against them? Consumers never get to hear about them. What about the BBB advertising to the public? Is this a false and misleading perception they are giving about consumer confidence when dealing with a business? Click here to understand more of what consumers and business alike are saying about the BBB. You decide. ..Remember. The BBB membership is not earned, it's paid for!
