My friend and I drove down to Planet Ford of Anderson on February 10, 2007. We were there to look at 2002 Acura RSX, I did not intend to buy it was a Saturday I knew the banks were closed and I left the $2,000 down payment at home 2 hours away.

When we arrived to the lot I had an appointment scheduled with the sales manager Jason, I did not want this appointment but when I called for directions they gave me one. I was told Jason was busy so a salesman named Jeremy help us. We looked at the car for a total of maybe 2 minutes then we were rushed into his office to have my credit checked. I asked the price of the car and he refused to tell me.

I fill out the paperwork and he ran it and came back to say I would need a cosigner, I was reluctant to the situation, but my mom said she would COSIGN. He ran her credit and told me to test drive it. I took it a half a mile down the road (no gas in the tank) and came back.

Then I waited 30-45 minutes to meet with the Finance manager B.T King. When I finally met with him he had some info on his computer, I looked at the price of the car I asked what is the price. He said $16,000, I automatically said no way I am not paying that because the car is five years old with 52,000 miles on it. He said 'what am I going to have to do today to get you in this car.' I said I am not paying over $13,000, 'there is a car in Hendersonville with half the miles on it for less money, just not the color I want. He said he could see what he could do, so he came back and said they could drop the price to $15,100. So I stared to leave the building, on my way out I was caught by the salesman Jeremey.

I had to wait another few minutes to meet with the manager Jason. I asked what the value of the car was, he apparently looked it up on the internet right in front of me although I could not see the screen. He said it was worth $17,000, with a trade in of $12,500. With all the wheeling and dealing, we got the price down to $14,700, $241 at 72 months. He told me to keep my down payment. My friend and I were starving so I said we are going to grab some food and think about it, of course with the Acura.

We decided to agree to the price, but when we got back the salesman came out with some blank papers for what I thought was for me to sign. We went around the corner in a rush (and what could of been a huge mistake), I signed. Then we went back they handed me the keys and said they would put the car on the insurance at that time.

A week later a finance company calls my home, and asked my mother what she had signed. The company had received paperwork saying we agreed to $295 for 96 months, that came to a $25,000 car. They also said they do not do cosigns. Luckily they refused to pay Planet Ford the money and we had no finance company. At 9 am that next morning my mother spoke to B.T King the Finance Mananger, he told her had no idea what was going on because he was on vacation, which was a lie. Finally we told them that they could drive the 2 hours up to Hendersonville and get the car. B.T came with someone else and said to my mother, 'oh, she loved the car she came down there because the car is black.' Something that I only told him, a man that was on vacation.

Planet Ford did not even put the car on my insurance, so for a week I was driving an uninsured car.
