Ford continues to lose sales because of this? I beg to differ. Dealerships of every make use this tactic, especially in the larger markets. They do it because it works. There were 2 parties responsible for your problem. The dealership was responsible for using misleading tactics. You were responsible because you still went there, even though you knew better (3 times in 3 months). The Houston car market is one of the most competitive in the country. If a dealer there ran an ad with legitimate pricing, you would have just gone to the one running the "loss leader ad" and tried to get something for nothing. You, sir, help perpetuate this dishonest activity. Before crying "ripoff", step back and take a look at the big picture. If you want a new car or truck, establish the dealer cost on one that is available that suits you, make a reasonable offer and buy your car. If you are not treated well, go elsewhere. It aint rocket science.
